As far as the whole GT2 motor in a Cayman, a Cayman with that kind of power would probably be VERY difficult to control. The Cayman S now is already a quick car, even simply having a GT3 motor it'd be silly fast.
Not sure what it is with people who don't think the Viper is capable on track, I can give you a few friends including one with a GT3-RS who is impressed with his snake on the road course, and another with a modded 996 GT-2 who feels his SRT-10 is better on the track. And we had a 996 GT-2 for a short time and still have an 911 SC completely prepped for racing with a 3.8 stroker. And still feel the Viper is incredible on track, its a different feel then other cars which is why others have a hard time/or are scared to actually push it hard, push it hard and know how to control teh beast and its a lethal weapon on track. Actually funny this came up as on the Porsche board there was a guy with a modded GT-2 who went for a ride in a Viper on track balls out, said it made his GT-2 feel like a tinker toy lol. Don't bother with N-track times, the Viper tested years ago was by a guy who had never driven one before and in the wet if I remember, tracks here in the U.S. have proven with the snake is capable off...which is ass whupping competitors.

ZR1 seems pointless to me, don't care for the looks and they can s/c and intercool it all they want, give it a couple hot laps and watch the power just drop and drop off like any other s/c'd car on track. I think its funny on hte Vette boards with damn near everyone disappointed in the actual ZR1 from all the hoopla before, wheres all those fuckers saying it would be 2800 lbs and 650+ hp lol.

Now a Cayman with a modded GT-2 motor or even GT3 motor would be fun, but it still looks like a hunchback version of the 911.

+1 on everything you said. I stand by my statements that the Viper, the Z06, the Zr1 and the ACR are all capable of beating a GT2 on the track when equipped with equivalent tires.

What's even better, is that most of the guys on this board really don't give in to the "Childish" games... lets race to see who's faster. We really don't care. We drive and race the cars because we enjoyed the speed.... as Ray says "Boost in an addiction", not to pride ourselves in beating any cars, but for the fact that we enjoy the thrill we get when we drive.

It seems like you have the little man syndrome.... "I want to prove that my car is faster"
It's ok... we understand that you will always have to take down the big boys to prove that your up there with us, funny thing is, you never will.

Umm..........Sure. You must be one of those gotta beat him up or the I-net kind of guys. Go drive that Saleen to grocery store and make it useful. I'm just trying to setup a race for fun. I would love to find someone who would be willing to put them to the test to settle the "beef". 1/4 mile, braking, and road course lap times. Stop trying to prove your the forum E-Thug and let other people chime in. Thanks A lot for nothin useful.

I do like the C5 comment though. LMAO Those things are way to heavy and underpowered. Also the new transmission(TR6060 same as ZR1) with slightly longer gears does the trick. I raced a 06 SRT10 Yellow w/Black stripes Lic# BTRADE or something like that. It sounded like it had exhaust and intake. He had no chance. He jumped me by a car(leaving on the second honk) and by the end of 3rd he was behind me. I already made a callout to anybody in South, FL with an 08 that is stock so we can get it on video and settle this little beef. Somebody let me know!!!!!
One sick Z06..Is that 100% bone stock down to the OEM tires..If so im impressed. If not then good for you, but no biggie...

BTW I am happy you have the updated roof.

So your looking for a stock 2008 hugh....If your 11.3 is dead stock..Then Id assume you ran this at 123-125 mph off a good 60 ft..Wich as I stated. If dead stock is impressive. But be forwarned that your feelings will be hurt shortly..

The 2008's have been clicking off high 120's dead stock and mid 130's with simple bot ons...Insane for a Z06 is 127 mph...127 mph with the new 2008's will be done by novice drivers they're first pass ( actually one guy hit a 129 dead stock on his 3rd pass ever....)

So i applaude you on your hunt. But I feel it will be in vain brother..

Ive raced my friends bone stock 455 rwhp c6Z06 numerous times with my 470 rwhp SRT10...The result is from a dead stop i can take him. But on a roll race from 70-140 mph he will pull me by 2 cars.

Yes I humbly admit defeat to the stock Z by 2 cars....But keep in mind this is with 470 rwhp...With another 75 rwhp ( putting me at 545 rwhp 2008 viper specs) well Id beat him by a bit more than 2 cars with another 75 rwhp..Im guessing 3-4 from 70-140 mph...

BTW weve raced 20 times or more...So my report is acurate

Lol typical responce. There is no beef, because we don't have to prove anything. We know what our cars can do, most of us don't get caught up in the who's better game.

So go on your way and take your "Who's better" game to the motownmuscle forums, they will welcome you with open arms.

Well I congratulate you. However he's not me. Nor can he drive like me. And his car ain't mine. It's dead stock whoever I race will be able to look all through it. Let me know if you or anybody wants to race from a dig and a roll. Only the video will show the truth. Im just trying to have some fun with people who have nice cars as well. And whoever was talking about the GT2 Porsche around the track would be surpirsed. Those things move on the road course. That's one of the few that can compete with the Z06 on the track. No offense to any viper owners.

I would agree that a 996 GT2 could lose to one of the above cars, but the 997 is looking pretty hot. That being said, the GT2 is one of my favorite cars.

HA HA HA HA...I GUESS YOU DIDNT READ THE REVIEWS WERE THE 03-06 SRT10 LOST BY A FEW HUNDRETHS OR TIED OR "GASP" BEAT THE C6Z06 AROUND THE ROAD COURSE????????Or read about numerous results from differant tracks around the country were the 03-06 SRT10 was repeatedly quicker around the course than the z06 as well as more reliable.......This was especially true for the 2006 Z06..Now you have an 2008 Z06 wich has slightly better handling at lower speeds and isnt as twitchy. But please dont act like a C6Z06 is a better track car than the SRT10...lil faster on the straights ..Yes. But as solidly built and fast out of the corners...NO...

So lets just keep it real man.....

The Z runs 11.7 at 124 with an average driver
The SRT10 runs a 12.1 at 121 with an average driver

Z's faster.....But not around a road course

My friends yellow C6z06 makes the extra curves really pop out..But your silver one looks a lot like a regular Vette....Good sleeper though with those 11.3's...What was the mph and 60 ft?

I'll tell you when I get the slip. And I would love to run any SRT10 at Sebring. Hopefully I will be able to make it to the next event.

Regular Vette LMAO:

There lays some of the problem. The run flats definately hindered a Viper and Vette's performance. Dodge took a step in the right direction with the 08's giving them at least some PS2's if i'm not mistaken. I know very well that a viper is a capable track car. I've read up and seen what professional drivers say when testing them. Hell in the newest test pitting the 08 viper vs the z06 they even state that the viper is easier to drive then a z06 even at the limits. That statement alone told me the kind of attention and tuning went into the n
