Did you not read that a owner took his 08 SRT10 and clicked off an 11.3 at 129 on his third pass???
Or that with just a few bolt ons they're hitting 135-137 mph????
The 2008 viper is the real deal. But you'll see for your self soon enough..545/515 rwhp and 3450 pounds will do that
So the Viper beats a GT2 in accleration. Means nothing to me. I hope that somebody does a head to head test of them. I don't see it being able to compete with a GT2 at all around a track. But we'll see so far the 08's are putting out some great performances. Beat the Z06 by a good second or around whatever course car and driver pitted the two of them on. And the GT2 on n-ring is 10 seconds faster then the Z is.
To be 100% honest i'm REALLY waiting to see what the ACR version will bring to the table. As solid as the 08 SRT-10's seem i can imagine how they'd do with some suspension tuning.
Actually you'll never be able to park like that unless your part of the flying roof club..Ive seen Z06 owners faces when i put the top down on our cruises or just out in about....

Theres plenty of SRT10 guys here that ran 11.7-11.9 at 121-124 mph dead stock..What did your stock C6z06 run....And if your in a c5 Z06 dont even mention it's stock time as I really dont care.

Don't delude yourself. A stock Viper Coupe would take out a Porsche GT2 and an ACR would decimate it. Porsche may have gotten the rear engine archetecture to work pretty well, but it is still a VERY polished turd. If Porsche dropped the GT2 engine in the Cayman, it would kill the 911.

Well Im in a 2008 Z06 with the updated roof panel structure so flying roof is not a concern for me. The car does 11.30's all day. When I find the slip I'll post it for you guys. I do like the C5 comment though. LMAO Those things are way to heavy and underpowered. Also the new transmission(TR6060 same as ZR1) with slightly longer gears does the trick. I raced a 06 SRT10 Yellow w/Black stripes Lic# BTRADE or something like that. It sounded like it had exhaust and intake. He had no chance. He jumped me by a car(leaving on the second honk) and by the end of 3rd he was behind me. I already made a callout to anybody in South, FL with an 08 that is stock so we can get it on video and settle this little beef. Somebody let me know!!!!!

The fact is, both cars are great, everyone has their likes and dislikes, you can make anything fast, either a Z06 to a Viper to even a Dodge Neon...

Haha I'm just trying to find a 08 Viper to race, because "IF" or in your words "WHEN" you beat him, I can go to all of my butt buddy friends and say, oh yeah, the Z06 is the best car in the world, it took out a V10 monster and laughed all the way to the bank because it cost less....... we have heard it all before.
What's even better, is that most of the guys on this board really don't give in to the "Childish" games... lets race to see who's faster. We really don't care. We drive and race the cars because we enjoyed the speed.... as Ray says "Boost in an addiction", not to pride ourselves in beating any cars, but for the fact that we enjoy the thrill we get when we drive.

Lol my delude myself? And you calling a 997 GT2 a turd is just hilarious. We'll see what happens, and IF they even get tested against each other. But don't come crying if it get's beat like they always do. I don't even feel the almighty ZR1 has what it takes. But it will probably be the ZR1 and Viper pitted against the 997 turbo.
As far as the whole GT2 motor in a Cayman, a Cayman with that kind of power would probably be VERY difficult to control. The Cayman S now is already a quick car, even simply having a GT3 motor it'd be silly fast.
