First 2008 Viper 1 7/8 Long Tube Headers

Hennessey Performance Engineering is happy to introduce the world's first set of stainless steel long tube 1 7/8 headers with Burns collectors. Our fabricator completed them earlier today. We should have the car fired up on the dyno in the morning with some new dyno numbers.

Here are some features about our 2008 Viper headers:

1. 1 7/8 in. primary tubes. The factory exhaust ports are large D-shape port like a big block Chevy. 1 7/8 in. is the only size that fits this port. If anyone where to offer a header for the 2008 with a smaller primary tube size then it would be a restriction in my opinion.

2. Burns 5-to-1 merge collectors - if you have seen a pair of these - you know why just 2 of these cost nearly $800 - likely more expensive than all of the parts that go into a complete set of mild steel JonB/Bellanger headers. These are the best built merge collectors made in the world.

3. We are using custom made half inch thick flanges that are D-shaped to exactly match the 2008 cylinder head's exhaust port.

4. We have build a D-shape tool that allows us to shape the primary tube into a D-shape so that the primary tubes fit precisely to the flange and the 2008 exhaust port for maximum air flow.

5. 100% T304 stainless steel construction.

6. 100% TIG and purge welded.

7. V-band clamp connector to 3 inch stainless exhaust system.

8. Lifetime warranty to original owner.

At this point, until we dyno these in a few hours, I dont know if they will make any more power or not. But they sure do look kickass and are the best set of headers built for the 2008 in terms of materials and construction.

Could you take some pictures of the stock header/manifold? I want to see how the new ones look compared to the older ones.

Thanks

John, thanks for the information. I already have a set of the Mopar/Belanger headers ready for install on my 08 when it arrives (hopefully) in the few weeks. In the meantime, I am looking for a cold air intake system for the car. Based on your previous post about the stock efficiency of the intake/air box, I gather that you don't have plans to develop a CAI for the 2008?

Thanks again for your informative posts.
