Besides the added vents I think the wieght is about the same and until the car has been out for a while I dont think they will be easy to get.

No draw backs at all-lot more air flow and cooler engine temp. Fits like a glove. I think Parts rack still has a few left.

If you get one you will not be sorry. Aggressive looking hood.

I was gonna ask the same thing. About the paint. I have a 2006 Coupe Blue/White. Blue Streak can you post some pics of your rig? I'd like to see what it looks like on your car.

Here's one in red/silver. I had the stripes tapered to stay out of the vents. Blue Streak went with stock stripes

Hoods are 1200-1400 plus shipping, doesn't include hood pad and vent screens. dodge wants $500-600 for the screens, bought mine at Kragen for $50. Pad is around $100.00 from dodge, I don't have a pad. Paint, $600-$800, I paid more due to painting new front bumper. Blue Streak has tons of pictures from his conversion

Got the hood for 1395$ plus shipping. The local Dodge Dealer wants 1495$ but you pay no shipping.

The grill sheet(18" X 4') was purchased from custom car grills for about 70$ and they are powder coated gloss black-very nice grill. Takes a little time and patience to make the grills. The 6 stock grills will cost over 600$ from Dodge.

Got the hood painted for about 400$. I like the wider stripes on the 06 so I did not have stripes tapered.

Here are a few pics--Last pic is with powder coated grills I made and installed. The pic with hood open was taken before the grills were installed.

Thanks

The engine breathes so much better and runs a little cooler with the hood. I believe the Viper performs better.

The only problem with the new hood and a SC. With the flat air filter and driving in a hard rain-could get the filter wet. I don't think their would be a problem with the stock round air filters.

One 06 Viper owner that has a 08 hood and a SC-installed a grill on the hood intake. I don't drive in the rain but I could get caught so I am a little concerned.

Streak,

You really know how to work a camera! Killer photos!

How about a tutorial on how you made the grills?

Best color combo ever!!

My Viper is being worked on by Adam and I should have it back next week end. I will put on info and pics of grill work soon.

The place to get the grill sheets is custom car grills-the diamond flat powder coated XXl is the best. The flat is easy to cut and shape. customcargrills.com - Custom Car & Truck Grills - Billet & Mesh Grill Inserts. You can save over 500$ by doing this yourself.
