That's what I have been saying for the longest. Altitudes are way below sea level on most/all of his runs.

I would like to see what he would REALLY run at a sea level altitude.

Very true... A vette is always a vette. A Z06 gets the same attention if not less than a A4 vert. A buddy of mine has a supercharged Roush mustang, and I always laugh my ass off at him when a V6 vert mustang pulls up next to him and gives him the "whats up mustang head nod and wave." They all think theyre in the same club... Never fails...

The NHRA correction factor at that altitude is only about 1%.

Now, my favorite word in cars is stock. As in "His time in a stock Viper around the track was ----. " The suspension has been tuned by a leading gofast shop. The bushings have been changed, the springs are changed, the shocks revalved, but it's stock.

Look at this site. There is a Ford GT section. It is recognized as a wonderful American sportscar here and many have decided to buy both. Most of us here will freely admit the Ford will do most things better than the Viper.

Hey Norm, sorry to hear about the incontinence problem that has you pissing behind race cars. A friend of mine owns nursing homes and tells me the biggest bores that everybody avoids are the ones that start every sentence: " I used to...." I don't think he has room for you.

Darius is making it happen at a world class level.

Scratch that. Apparently it was at sea level.

Using the inverse of these numbers (which I am sure is not correct BUT should be close)

10.92 @ 129 converts to 11.06 @ 127.4, still a very impressive time and just barely beats out Rangers best of 11.1. Congrats on the driving skills (drag radials times less than a tenth better than stock).

Bone stock....yea...right. I call BS

It's not possible (mathematically) for a 505bhp, 3130lb car to hit the numbers posted. Either it is lighter, has more power or both.

Agreed, I can't remember if it was on the CF or ls1tech.com but a couple of folks were saying how they had heard Ranger was a notorious midnight tweaker. I mean regardless of ET shoudn't the MPH stay around the same?

Its almost as if he adds 50 to 75 hp just by him driving the car. I wouldnt be suprised if they had mods that would slip under the radar such as that intake and KILLER BEE tune that the zo6 people praise so much. 130 traps sound fishy either way.

One thing you guys need to keep in mind is this was at a VERY fast track under dream conditions. This run was performed on MIR (Maryland international Raceway) which I'm personally very familiar with as its only 30 mins from my house. Many records are routine broken at this track during the professional events held there.

It's a sea level track (literally), that's surround by water (potomac river) that had high barometeric pressure (well over 30.00) at a low 45 degree ambient air temprature...which netted a -1200DA !!! This is also a well prepped NHRA sanctioned track. So, sea level with perfect barometeric pressure, perfect temprature, great traction on a well prepped track and a great driver...netted the time. Great achievment on Jamie's part, hardly representative as far "stock C6 Z06" numbers are concerned*

You don't understand? At least 600rwhp and slicks are needed to propel a stock vette that fast. And that's with perfect track and a perfect launch.

My Power-Spped calculator is a slide rule for figuring how much hp is required to make that weight car go that fast.

I would take AT LEAST 600hp, probably more.

Try again.

I forgot to also mention, BECAUSE of the super high barometric pressure and very low 45 degree temp at sea level make the effective DA -1260*** That vette was making FAR more than 505HP that day...probably closer to 600.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if an 08' Viper did a 10.8@132MPH the same day, track & conditions.....in complete showroom stock trim & tires.
