What kind of smoke, and is the car running poorly, or does it run ok, with just the light on? On some vehicles, (not sure on Viper) the downstream o2 sensors set the goal voltage for the upstream o2's to reach. This is usally the case in fuel trim lean/rich codes, tho. Are there any other codes present? Was the injector harness damaged? If the harness got pinched, it can lock the injectors open by shorting the pcm injector actuation circuit to ground. The + side of the injectors is supplied by the ASD circuit, same as the fuel pump.

Off top of my head make sure proper coil connected to propper cylinder (i.e. plug wire on coil 7 is going to cylinder 7 and plug wire on coil 8 is going to cylinder 8)
Injector connectors? I know of the Gen I+II's, the injector clips are kinda crappy....

How long ago did you buy the car? You are responsible for transfering over the powertrain warranty through a dodge dealer...not the original owner. You better hurry up because if you wait past 30 days it wont be valid.
The problem you will have is that because they know major work needs to be done while you're working on a warranty transfer Dodge will most likely fight it, and because you have modifications they may say they are justified. That SnakesRUs guy was going through the same issue and from what I read his car wasn't modified at all.
Welcome to the world of customer assistance taking no responsibility for their product and putting it on the dealer who will in-turn tell you there is nothing they can do and you have to call customer care.
I was just told that Dodge takes no accountability for the regional reps in resolving matters, that the regional reps are 3rd party contractors for Dodge and therefore the dealer has to faclitate this dialouge through their business department....it's all a joke and I feel bad that you may be heading down this path
Oh boy, you are in for a fight than. Once the 30 day window is up, whenever a dealer goes to enter warranty work on the car it would be kicked out of their system as "uneligible for warranty" and the dealer will only proceed with cash payment.
The only way this can be over-rided in their system is to have the regional rep come to the dealer physically to approve. The problem here is that since you made no attempt to transfer the warranty within the 30 day period AND you car is modified AND your car needs major work...the odds are against you.
Are you the 2nd owner of the car? Who told you the previous owner was responsible for transfer of powertrain warranty? It clearly states in the warranty manual the 2nd owner has 30 days to transfer the 7/75k warranty. Also Dodge should have sent you a letter reminding you this was not done and given you an extension to do so.
This guy spends all day pulling every magazine review of the viper from the last 10 years, yet neglects to read his own warranty manual to make sure his car is properly covered.
On top of that, he is dynoing a blown engine and respects the relative loss of power it is putting out....
What's next are we going to be forced to read countless stories about his 300rwhp blown viper is running against E46 M3s and Subaru STIs etc...
The lesson here is instead of doing countless POINTLESS analysis, maybe time could have been better spent taking the 5 minutes to read up on what really matters like warranty transfer as a second owner.
No offense Tornado, but you are seriously screwed here. You have zero levarge to approach Dodge to extend your warranty when the only thing prompting you to do so is that you now need major work done.
Who knows maybe your arrow rebuild has some warranty from arrow....but even there with your mods they will deny that.
No Im not Doomned man....My warranty isnt the origional warranty from Dodge.
In 2006 The owner PURCHASED an 5 year/50,000 extended warranty till 2011 on my 2003 viper..
My origional Chrysler warranty that started in 2003 clearly states the the drive train warranty in non transferable..
But the warranty that was purchased in 2006 clearly states that the warranty is transferable with a $50 transfer fee and states no regulations...
]
So yea if we were talking about the origional warranty then I AGREE I WOULD BE SCREWED...
As well the only mods I really have are exhaust/kn filters...The car still has the pre cats with the 02 sensors..Just not the cats before the muffler and muffler ( but it's not very loud)
The roller rockers were installed by ARROW/CHYSLER on the engine rebuild and I have the paperwork to prove it...
If they killed my warranty on the engine due to KN filters and exhaust modification that would be ludicrous...Now if aftermarket had installed the roller rockers then I could see them refusing my warranty..But since Chrysler/Arrow is the only one to ever pop the engine. I think Im good.
And in the worst case...If they did refuse my warranty...Well id just spend the coin and rebuild the engine if it's got compression ( I was planning on head work anyways next year around march)
I already found a viper tech and on monday Im going to a dealership to start the transfer paper work
Check the torque on your intake bolts I had this same problem and that fixed the smoking problem I had. But mine was smoking for about the first 30 seconds after start up then would go away after o2 sensors went in closed loop. Hope this helps.

You are mistaking the regular warranty with the Powertrain Warranty, the powertrain comes 7/75k with the car, the first owner did not purchase this it was already in place. This is transferrable over to you within 30 days of purchase for the remaining 7/75k. The regular warranty covers everything else...radio...etc...but any engine work you will need is a seperate warranty. You may be able to purchase a new powertrain warranty, not sure. But the transfer cut off is 30 days.
