Driveway with curb skirt

I'm about to pull the trigger on an srt-10 viper but I'm worried that I'll scrape the chin on the concrete curbskit pulling in and out of the driveway. Its not as bad as others I've seen but I want to lower the car an inch. Do you think I'll be fine if I approach the driveway parallel then turn in I'll clear the nose? It would suck if I couldnt get in my driveway.

If you take your time and pull in at an angle you should be fine. The only time I hit mine is when I back out straight in a bit of a hurry. I just installed some prototype skid plates on mine.

Go check out the SRT skidplates thread in the Vendors and Tuners forum.

I've got a pretty steep driveway too and haven't had a problem yet. My Vette was much worse with the air dam underneath. Like boplaw said, make sure you do it slowly and at an angle and you should be fine.

If push comes to shove......back it over the curb........have to do that with mine on occasion, even tried to go at the curb at an angle.....no such luck......so backed up over the curb cut and no problem what-so-ever.

This is something I have also worried about.....I had a new approach poured and the contractor put in some big curb skirts....still plenty wide for the car but they look like they are waiting to put a nice rash on some wheels.

My slammed vette would scrape the front plastic damn every time but it was basically touching the ground. Never hit the nose though.

I'll echo the angle strategy. I have to back in at an angle each time I am returning. It's definately the lesser of the two evils for me... drive across the sod or scratch up the facia of my Viper. Good luck on the purchase! You wont be sorry

Even if you scrape...if the car is lowered you won't be able to see the scrape marks unless you are lying on the ground looking up at the car....my advice...full throttle straight on
