Corvette owner has the itch. Educate me on the Mamba 04/05
I have had my car a little over a year and just about finished with it. Everytime I see a 04/05 Mamba for some reason it grabs me by the balls and calls my name. I figure my price tag is going to be in the $55K range which is fine, what I want to know is: what is the difference between a Mamba and a RT10 Convert? I already assume I am going to change things like Wheels, intake, exhaust, Nitrous, and a tune. where will a benefit with the Mamba. Why does it seem different looking to me? since eventually I will also change things like interior I really don't want to spend the extra bread on a Limited Edition car. Please help.
If you are going to change the interior, then don't bother to buy a Mamba. The interior is the only thing that makes a Mamba different from a regular SRT-10 convertible.

I own Corvettes and a Viper. The Viper is a better 2nd car- much more fun. If you want an everyday driver, stick to the Corvette. I just drove my Vette for the first time in 6 months. Viper is just to different and a blast to drive to be ignored.
Mechanically, there is nothing different between a Mamba and a regular SRT-10 convertible. The only difference is the interior color combination. Nothing else.
The mamba is a $2,500 option. Customer preferred package 21A. It comes with 2 tone interior a custom car cover, and the dash plaque. Thats right off of my 04 window sticker.
With all that said I should just concintrate on an RT10 then. For whatever reason I thought there was more to it. Don't get me wrong, the Corvette is bad ass, and my brothers on that platform are second to none, but the problem is the commonality of them. (Is that even a fricking word) You never see a Viper in my area so it would be nice to be different. I have NEVER looked at the Viper as a more plush car, and I am not concidering this move for something better, Just different. My C5 and a stock Viper (which I would have for a while) performace wise are more then likely neck to neck. Thanks again off to see what is available.
I would not say HEAVILY modded but does well. I run high 11's with a 150hp shot and a few boltons Full exhaust with LT's and Highflow cats. ported LS6 intake and tb. N20 Plate system, built tranny, gears, and a stall, and finally a solid Dyno tune. I put 420hp 460tp w/ 100 shot on a tough dyno.
Mamba003 got it right, as the Mamba comes with a red Fangs logo on the front of the fascia ( others were gray ) , as well as a Silver and Red Viper SRT10 decal on each front fender panel -- and these babies are pricey. The other little change in badging is on the steering wheel, where a red Fangs emblem takes the place again of the gray standard issue.
The car cover was a nightmare, as it came listed on the window sticker, but many of the Silver Mambas ( 2005 ) did not come with them, and it was a struggle to ever get one from DC.
With 200 of each color, they are not extremely rare, but until the 2008 comes out with the various interiors, the only way to get a different interior ( to some degree ) was to get other Limited Models ( Commerative Edition, First Edition, VCA Editions )
