The viper is a better performance car. The Z06 is a bad ass car, but the viper is king, again. At the level of performance these cars are at the won't be huge differences. The vette guys were all giddy when the vette was a few tenths faster and a couple mph higher. The tables are switched and now they say. " Hardly any difference" that's BS the viper is king again and we will see a lot better ET and MPH from the 08 vipers soon. I guarantee it.

IM sure there will be some test numbers that better the one in car and driver.
Im intrested in seeing the one that got the 130mph trap speeds we keep hearing about.
The Viper could hit it's 30th aniversery and the mags/reviews STILL would make sure they mentioned that some of the first car/engine specs came from truck parts. What gets me is they empisize it like the Viper is some kinda junk box with a high price tag on it. And that every Viper is still currently made from truck parts laying around the production line.
And the difference is just minimal compared to what, the 06 car...? Better look into again. So which manufactures flag are you toting around? Cheby, FoRd,

Edmunds tested the Viper and got an 11.8@125 and the best for the Z06 came in at 11.9@124 (2nd test). Now in C&D, the Z06 ran a 11.7@125 and the Viper runs an 11.6@126. It looks like the Viper will be HARDLY any quicker than the Z06.
But it does seem like the Viper is significantly quicker on the race track.

Look over on the Morg, Wanted already plans to get the car to a 10.99 or better and with his driving skill and the potential of the 08 I dont see it being too big of problem.
Have you read the recent reviews of some of the mags/car sites that have the actual car? They love it, and for good reason because it's not just the more powerful engine it's the handling and HOW the car gets the power to the ground much better then the 03-06 cars.
And the last and most obvious point... since when did magazines ever get decent times with any car or are bias towards one brand depending on the publication?
The 08 Viper will be a stong contender stock and with a few mods an even better one at that.

i would think the 08 viper would hit 10s with a set of DRs on. the C6Z has a best 10.85 bone stock other than DRs. i think that people should appreciate both cars as awesome american muscle. without the C6Zs and Vipers competing, we wouldn't be getting these badass cars. when the SC'd Z comes out, it'll give Dodge a reason to even better its 08 model.
