New Viper hood

Here is a quick follow up on the Hood designs I asked about weeks ago. It is now finalized and shipping to customers. It weighs in a 30lbs (45lbs stock) and has a list price of $1795.

For those looking for an exact copy of an 08 hood, this is not it. The two are quite different and a side by side shot would really show it. This one has a much wider center section to accomodate current size stripes, forcing the vents to be smaller which really changes the look of it.

I not really happy with these pics. I'll try to take some better shots.

Thanks for all of your help in the development.

Jeff

Beautiful work Jeff. I got to hand it to you. I really wish chrysler would consider approaching you for a possible deal to use your street serpent design on a z06style model for the viper. I am not sure how all of that would work out considering it is based off the srt-coupe/comp coupe design, but either way it would be cool.

If you ever have some free time and are bored. Please take more pics of what's going on with your project(s)!

Very nice! Are you still thinking about offering a carbon fiber hood? With that one weighting 15lbs less already it may not be feasable. Once again, nice work. Gonna order one soon.

What is the hood made of? Is it same material as stock?

I just worry about being able to match the paint color especially red...easy for him since he repainted his entire car....thoughts

The original hood is made of sheet molded compound (SMC). Our hoods are made from resin infused fiberglass matt/cloth. You can see the process here:

About Us

Yes, you need a good painter to match you car exacly.

So does that front end fit on a regular viper or just the street serphant? Have a friend who purchased Hennessey front end and it was cracked in many places, didn't line up with ANY of the panels - took $3k to have it remolded, cracks filled, painted and fit on the car (above the $3k the piece cost).

If you're front is for sale how much is it?

the Street Serpent kit is 2" wider than the stock Viper so it will not fit by itself. The hardtop and hood are the only interchangable components.

The only stock panels on the car shown here are the doors.

Well I think you should make a front end for the stock viper...seems you would have a much larger market selling interchangeable parts to stock vipers than a complete re-design package - only case I can see for doing that is if someone wrecked their viper and wanted to go this route as opposed to repairnig back to stock.

How many full kits have you sold?
