SRT10..500 rwhp with bolt ons????

Hi guys..

Just totalled my rt10 and will be getting a SRT10 shortly....

very curious to how these guys respond to bolt ons...

I already have an AEM that I am now trying to get pricing on the gen 2 AEM adapter kit to work on my SRT10..

Any AEM SRT10 guys out there with info?

So I would appreciate real world SAE numbers that you guys have seen on the dyno...

straight piping the cats= rwhp? $$$?

air intake= rwhp?$$$?

headers= rwhp?$$$?

exhaust=rwhp?$$$?

light weight fly wheel=rwhp?$$$?

roller rockers=rwhp?$$$?

And the one Im thinking about doing right off the bat if feasable..

MILD CAM SET UP FOR 25-35 RWHP...ANYONE DOIN THIS...TUNING NECCESARY FOR MILD CAM?...HOLE ENGINE NEED TO COME OUT OR WHAT?

Was gnna do heads first off but wife already has other plans LOL

If your going for "cheap bolt-on" 500rwhp. Better look at a Paxton. It's not cheap, but you will make over 500rwhp.

Making 500rwhp N/A can not be done without head work or a cam. I don't know about anyone else, but that....is NOT a bolt-on.

Stock viper heads really are not that good.

Learn to drive your car! Go to Skip Barber or something. Cam change without head work is worthless. With heads, springs, rockers, pushrods, headers, exhaust and tunning, you will be well into the 550-600 range. Just do it right the first time and one time!

Power lives in the heads. The heads on the 92-06 cars really are not that good. LS6's have better heads and intake than a viper. If you want you *might* eeek out over 500rwhp if you did a custome intake mani. The mani on these cars suck too.

If you want something to build that will be cheap and make great power, get a 03/04 cobra. 550-600rwhp from "bolt-ons". And if you want to change the S/C, you can get upto about 700rwhp.

Sorry man..Id take a 1993 rt10 viper with 50K miles and leave it bone stock forever before I modded a mustang....

And who said i wanted a cheap buid? I already have the AEM...I cant afford 10 grand all at once but i can buy the heads and such peace by peace. Not tryin to hold it all together with bubble gum or nunthin...

Just want some people to post up sayin I have this and that and dynoed this.

Might just say screw it and leave everything 100% stock and just add nitros

Ok, now I understand what your doing. For some reason I was thinking you wanted to do strickly bolt-ons. I do consider a intake mani a bolt on, but not heads or a cam. I will assume you want to stay N/A.

You already have a AEM and it's a fantastic start.

Put in a comp coupe oil pickup and pan (your going to run it hard I would think)

Headers + 3" exhaust, no cats. It will sound mean. I have a bellinger's header and 3" w/o cats and it FREAKING LOUD...but I love it. Don't forget the O2 sims. $2500 (headers) Then have a local exhaust shop to the rest should be 1k or less. Take it to them without the side sills on, you'll save a little money. Then don't forget O2 sims cost me $25(if you need them, not sure with the AEM). Tune.

Next up, Roller Rockers, pushrods and Valve cover spacers. Tune.

Last up, toss that stock intake mani, have Greg Good or someone make you one. Not sure on cost, but it will not be cheap.

That is about as far as you can go with "bolt-ons". I don't consider heads and a cam "bolt-on".

I was always taught (when dealing with the motor) Start from the back and work your way to the front. No point to put in more air/fuel if you can't get it out.

So who is building you that AEM harness for the GEN3? The harness is different than that for a GENII... i only know of a couple of prototypes out there.

As for power, opening up the exhaust AND fixing the A/F on the car seems to help quite a bit.

WRONG.
My 05 SRT...... Corsa, No cats, green filters, DC computer tune 487 rwhp. Headers made 25rwhp on buddies car,so headers would put me at or above the "500" mark. Plus now theres a new Throttle body good for a 5-10rwhp and lightweight smaller crank pulley good for a few hp. So easy bolt ons, for 500rwhp. Sure its not cheap for the gains, but possible. NO heads/cam needed.

And for reference my buddies 04SRT made 496rwhp with Kooks headers, Corsa and NO cats. No other mods or tuning. So he has plenty of small bolt on options to surpass 500rwhp.
But as mentioned the easiest way to get over 500... way over 500 rwhp is a Paxton. That should get ya 600+ on stock car. And I still consider that a bolt on. lol

I admited defeat for my mistake before, but maybe you missed that post. That's ok though.

I hope to see 500rwhp with bolt-ons from a SRT soon.

John is currently sourcing me the AEM SRT wirering adapter kit..

HMMM..So it seems like the AEM+no cats+headers+exhaust will be good for 485-500 rwhp...OK That sounds pretty decent..

I suppose it just really depends on the luck of the draw..

Some of you dyno 439 SAE....Some of you dyno 463 SAE...A pretty significant differance from Viper to viper
