Nice ride. I like the stealth theme. I'm considering something similar myself. I was thinking of doing an all black SRT-10 with black spokes and a polished lips for the wheels. I agree with you on the fact that chrome is sometimes a bit too flashy. I definatley think chrome is a little too over the top for a theme like this. I prefer polished lips and I think that would add just the right amount of lustre. The only thing that sucks about polished aluminum is the maintanence involved. Good news is, if you put a clear powder coat over the polished lip, it would to keep from dulling, scratching and pitting and you would never have to use any sort of polishing compound, ever again. Soap, water, and something to spruce up the shine, thats it. Clear powder coating over a polished aluminum surface, does cut into the overall lustre ever so slightly, but I think the results are awesome. Enough shine to stand out without being over the top, couple that with the ease of maintenance, a winning combination in my book.
Entertaining to the children in here...but in all seriousness I can never understand why people will spend a considerable amount of money making their car look 100x worse than stock....they are always the ones who drive to the car shows and mistake the reason people are staring at them "yeah they did my mods"...but in reality everyone is like "look at that tasteless douche" while they give you the thumbs up and laugh as you drive off
What you are failing to realize, is taste in the eyes of the beholder. Your opinion is you don't like black. Great. Don't chime into a forum topic about black rims then.
My opinion is I dont like chrome, and I dont have a chrome mercedes emblem hanging around my neck. If you do, great.
I have kept my stock rims, and I am sure one day they will roll again, for now I am blacked out. Be gone now.
