I understand what your suggesting. It seems this would be the proper way to install.

Just for info- the instructions show the way I have installed. In fact I just got off the phone with a snake oyl rep and he said they are to be installed over the front of the seat.

The fact that Snake Oyl sold that and are telling you that is correct scares the crap out of me. Cory should know better - he's got a Comp Coupe.

Rocko give snake oyl a call and talk to them about it.

It does seem like the way that is suggested on this thread would be the best install for protection of the driver.

I honestly believe that the snake oyl guy is confused.

6 point belts don't work that way.

OK - try this while sitting in your car with your belts installed that way....

Buckle up. Tight.

Notice how your shoulders are feeling pressure and how you can alleviate the pressure by scooting forward with your pelvis. In fact, you can move your pelvis forward enough to put your hand behind you. And - your spine is curving forward.

Imagine how much you can move in an impact. Imagine where your torso would end up.
Imagine if you can move around that much sitting still, how much worse it would be coming to an abrupt stop.

Snake Oyl is doing you a MAJOR disservice if their "Chrysler supplied" instructions are telling you to mount them that way.
