Hello Everyone, just a quick introduction. My name is John Im from Toronto,Canada. Im 35 Years Old and am about to become a new Viper Owner on June the 6th. Its a Red 2003 SRT10 Vert with 8,000 Miles on it. Im really Excited as itll be my first Viper after having been a Mustang enthusiast and owner for the last 10 years. Im hoping to learn alot on this forum as I know absolutely nothing about Vipers other than they are BADAZZ!! Thankyou for allowing me to join your club!!
I am another new owner of a 2003 SRT with 9475 miles on it. My name is Jim Sombke from Huntingtown Maryland. I currently own a 76 vette, 2002 trans AM WS-6 convertible and feel in love with this car when I saw it on the web.
My particular car was discussed in depth in another thread. Most mentioned it was hedious.. The orginal owner placed an aero package on it and added interior trim. I thought it looked very nice but obviously owning a Viper is very subjective.
I am excited to be a Viper owner and spent most of the week-end joing Viper message boards and groups.
-Jim

Welcome Jim! You are correct in regards to likes/dislikes being relative to the owner. Some are partial to the Gen 1's(me) some Gen II's or III's. One thing we do all agree on; we love our VIPERS! Be prepared on your Viper outings to be attacked by the cell phone cameras! Enjoy your car and Viper Alley.
I've been counting the minutes till my first purchase. I'm hoping to pick up an SRT-10. I was supposed to have the funding over a month ago, things didn't work out as planned. I finally have everything worked out but for the moment, time seems to be standing still for me. I was also planning an over the top TT'oed beast with over 1200 RWHP. When reality set in, I realized that I don't have the extra 50k or so to get the car completely modded. I'll have to wait a few months more for that I guess I'll have to "live" with the factory HP ratings for now (sarcasm) A nice set of wheels and tires with lowered performance suspension upgrades will do quite nicely for now. (Maybe some "Dynomat" in the doors and my killer stereo system too) FYI. There are a lot of "good dudes" in here that are very helpful. They seem to look forward to answering questions and helping out. On the same note, there are a few complete idiots that may bash anything you post, therefore it is sometimes essential to have thick skin around here. The good do outweigh the bad, that's the reason I always come back. Ignore the "Shmucks" they feed off of stupidity, if ignored they'll eventually go away. Good Luck
It's a lot of torque totally stock. Take it easy. Many get smacked in the first month. The Viper Club of America site has a lot more first timer info.
True enough, I'm hoping that the stock HP and torque will keep me happy long enough to make the upgrades when I can truly afford them. I hate sticking myself into debt, been debt free for years. Stock will do for now. Thanks for the reality check fellas. Canadian, lots of good advice here from good dudes, Good luck.
Welcome aboard. You will enjoy. I still feel like a little kid everytime I drvie it. The comments are also dead on, it actually gets somewhat embarassing at times, they way people stare. Ego trip sometimes, but in any case, it's all good. Be careful, been sideways at 70+ a few too many times..........accidental drifting...........ur asshole will put a hicky on the leather seat the first time you do it.
