I got into a little pissing contest the other day with a Porsche GT and an SL 55. The Porsche sounded like a formula one and when I got on his ass, the damn thing pulled away (I may have not been in the
best gear

). I actually hit redline in third while he was still pulling. As if that wasn't bad enough, the SL was right on me in my rear view. Anyway, the Porsche exited the freeway shortly after our little interaction and I suspect that he did so in order to keep from being provoked; after he was gone, the SL and I didn't bother any more.
Now, the Porsche GT is a $600K+ car and is also a V-10 with like 600 hp (at least I think that it is), but the Benz?@#$#@!

What the HELL!! To add insult to injury, I ran into a guy I know who has one this weekend; he told me that SL 55 is heavier than the SRT but it has more torque. He then began to gloat about how it's a much smaller, more efficient V-8 (albeit supercharged) - I wanted to shove the paper plate of chips and dip he was holding up his fat &^%$#^@$!$!

He also said that it redlines around 8500 rpm. Is this true?
If the Benz can beat an SRT (or even my Z06) then I might as well disembowel myself with a rusty screw right now!

WHAT'S THIS WORLD COMING TO?

What's next - an 800 hp Honda?
