A few pics of the Snake Oyl 6 point seat belt on my 2006 coupe and the snake painted on the hood insulation pad.
The first pic is the Snake that I painted(silver color) on the pad with high temp paint. Not perfect but it turned out better than I thought it would. It took a lot of time with the tape but it beat paying 500-600 $ for a pad already painted.
The 3" Snake Oyl Belt is nice and can be easy tucked aside when I want to use the stock belt. I probably will get the belt for the passenger side soon. Pic 2 & 3 are the belts with and without blue shoulder pads. I may take the pads off. I was thinkng about blue belts but with silver stripes and also silver dash pieces I thought the silver belts would look the best.
I will be taking the Viper to the Somernites car show in Somerset Ky this Saturday afternoon. In the morning those wanting to do so will go in a group to the drag track.
I do plan to drag(weather permitting) the Viper this year. I will post the times.

Its been a long time since I was at the drag strip. Maybe some of you that drag can give me some advice. I run the Hoosier A6 on the rear-a very sticky fast heating tire. Don't know yet just how much to heat up the A6's for the first run. The compound of the tire is so soft that in warm weather it should not take much heating up. Believe me when I take the car out for a little dog fight all I have to do is spin the tires in the drive way just a little and the Viper is ready. Goes straight as a arrow and just a hair of a spin in 1st. Even with the SC the 3.55 gear and light weight fly wheel their is no fish tailing in any gear under wot.

I'll be glad to try it out for ya I've hit 11.44 seconds in the 1/4 with SRT and its not blown. My blown GTS is all over the place due to lack of traction with a best of 11.07 seconds in the 1/4. Waaaaay to much dust in west Texas to get traction. I bet with your set up, mid 10's should not be to much of a problem. GL
Joel cool--that 11.40 is a very good time with no SC. No telling what time you would come in with my Viper and the slicks.
A few years ago I ran in the 1/8-didn't like it. Like you say especially with a SC Viper the 1/4 would be the best.
The 1/8 track is in Russell Springs Ky about 38 miles from Somerset. Ill have to drive the Viper there and back to Somerset for the show. I am almost ready not to go to 1/8th drag and go to Beech bend for the 1/4 in a few weeks.
The Somenights car show in Somerset Ky is a big one -about 1100-1500 cars. They close down the town from 2-8 pm for the show. From April to Oct the show is the last Saturday of the month. They come from Canada, Florida etc. They have about 3 or 4 Vipers. After the show the participants cruise down 127 for about 8 miles and thousands of people line the highway to see the cars.
If you like car shows this one is one of the best. I go a lot because I am from Somerset.
I used red engine paint which I think was 500 temp. The silver was the 1200 temp. I tried painting with a brush first but it left a lot of imperfections so I taped and sprayed. I did brush in the red.
Some spray a clear over the paint to get a good finish look but I cant find a high temp clear. Afraid especially with the SC it would be to hot for low temp paint.
As mentioned the hardest part is the doing the tape. I did spray the complete pad first with a high temp low gloss black. Then of course I taped off what I did not want to be painted.
I first used the inch wide blue painters tape and it did not want to stick well on the pad. I got the 3/4" green tape at Advance Auto Parts and it stayed on good. A little seep through the tape edges but after it dried I touched up with black using a very small brush.
It would make it easier to go around the snake if you could get 1/2" wide or smaller tape that would stick.
Ill add one thing-be sure and put a sheet or something over the motor. When you pull out the plastic screws(about a dozen) that holds the pad on to the hood you could drop one. Ive got one some where in the engine compartment.
