What's the deal with the sound of a Viper. They don't sound bad, I just figured that a big bore, long stroke V-10 would have a deeper sound. Is there a reason that they have a higher pitched exhaust note?

Seen this vid on a few different sites now and it has the new Viper hood etc..
( pics of the guys popping the hood and pics zooming in on the new motor )
They all say it's a 2008 doing a test run for a magazine vs. an f16 for show.
