Although I haven't owned a new Z06, I've ridden in one and have owned 7 Vettes. I traded my last one in on my new '06 SRT Coupe. I thought long and hard about whether to buy a Z or the Viper. I decided on the Viper because it is a better looking car in my opinion and certainly more exclusive/unique. I've read articles stating the Z slightly outperforms the Viper in some categories and the Viper is a bit better in others. 300+ pounds of weight difference certainly doesn't help the Viper. Regardless, neither car lacks abundant power or speed.
All that being said, they are BOTH incredible cars, with boatloads of torque and ponies. They are the best all-around stock American muscle cars ever produced in my opinion. Being loyal to and/or singing the praises of either one is certainly understandable. However, I will say that when I was reading Viper Alley and the Corvette Forum posts about whose car was better, faster, cooler, etc., while rockets and mortars were raining down and IEDs were killing folks on a daily basis, it kind of put things in perspective for me. When anyone gets their engines too spooled up over the Z06 vs. Viper battle, please keep in mind that there are a lot of guys and gals who would have had the thrill of their life to just drive or ride in either one, let alone own them. Unfortunately, they will never get the chance. Their lives were voluntarily given so we all can continue to enjoy the many incredible blessings we have in our magnificent country. That includes our beloved toys. Just my unsolicited $.02 worth.

You are getting more embarrassing by the minute, Fagi. I put up a legitimate post of A stock Viper beating a stock ZO6 and you have lost your mind. Pathetic little gaybird. You will have to come to terms with Viper dominance. In case you just tuned in, it has been going on for 15 years.
I too would be interested to know how many vipers Real Street has turbo'd. I know Jay and he is a good mustang tuner but I didnt know he was doing vipers. Then again i haven't talked to him in a year or so. 10k will be like pocket change if your car is the quinea pig. Not knocking Jay's ability however the first of any project has it's problems to deal with. Good luck.
I spoke to Kevin at Underground Racing and we seem to have worked out a good price. From what I heard, they have an excellent reputation. The only consideration I have is whether or not having a 1500hp Viper might cause Fagi to commit self destructive acts and/or suicide. Bad enough he has been the subject of homosexual "trains" in his hometown, but the thought of me having a Viper that NO Z06 could touch, might just drive him over his effeminate limit. How can I make this assumption? Simply by analyzing his posts, beloved fans of mine! Nothing could be more obvious.
