How much affected will someone be by adding stripes to a new solid color coupe in respect to resale? Are Viper buyers concerned with the options matching the window sticker? I guess the same question goes for 5 spoke wheel swaps as well. Also, are factory stripes shot with clear once painted? Anyone know of a painter in New Jersey that is "Viper stripe certified" so to speak?
Personally....adding stripes to a perfectly beautiful piece of equipment is a travisty! As for how they stripe one of these beasts, I have no idea and don't intend on finding out. Good luck with your project.
Adding stripes is something that can be looked at both ways - some buyers want them and others do not. I have only had roadster Vipers and 2 of them had stripes - a factory Blue/White '97 and a stripes added Black/Silver '95. Both looked great and I did not have a problem selling either. But I now have a Yellow '05 and will not be adding stripes to it - the Gen III Coupes look a lot better striped than the roadsters, IMHO.
In regards to wheels and for that fact, exhaust, etc., do what you want and that will allow you to enjoy the car to the fullest. I hear more and more Viper owners talking about them as investments and worried about resale. Vipers are kinda like Harleys - people customize them and for the most part they hold their values as long as they are taken care of.

Thanks.
I think you should just go with vinyl stripes. They look just like painted stripes, but you can take them off whenever you want to, so this way you don't have to worry about it affecting the resale value. Also, what part of NJ are you in?

Mine came with stripes from the factory and I beleive they are clear coated, but they are not undetectable when you run your finger across the edge. I have had other cars done with stripes and they have always been better blended at the edges than the viper. It was the ONLY thing I was a little disappointed with on my car.
Has anyone seen the new viper, they show pictures on dodge.com...it has like ghost snake skin stripes. Also, has anyone ever seen a viper with Lambo doors on it? ive heard you can put them on but you have to hack your doors to pieces to get them to work.

The stripes on the newer vipers and viper coupe are painted on the car at the END of production on TOP of the original color and clear coat. Dont ask me why as it is not the best way to do it, but thats what dodge does....
