Hi everyone ,I'm very new here and have a lot of questions since this is my first Viper. I have had several hi performance cars and modded everyone of them.
So it's time to get going on the new toy.
I know the rear wheels on my 06 are 72 lbs. And was hope'n some of you guys that have new wheel & tire set ups could tell me the style and weights .
And where to buy them at a good price.
I like the 18/19 look and the 19 /20 . is anyone running a 18/20 combo ?
I am interested in some wheel & tire set ups in the 40 to 55 lbs range. Or less that would still be strong enough to hold up to the Michigan shit roads .
Pictures of your wheels or any help would be great.
If the roads are very bad, you are much better off trading wheel diameter for sidewall height. John Purner at CCW makes very strong, very light modular wheels for Vipers of all vintages. They are also very attractively priced and cheap to fix. They do not offer as much choice in styling, though.

Purner doesn't have an 18" 3 piece that will clear the SRT-10 brakes. He told me that in an email a few weeks back. I was surprised.
I'm going with SSRs for track wheels unless someone can suggest something lighter or cheaper.

Good info. It's probably because he stays with common sized center mesh pieces that call for more slope on the back half of the rim hitting the calipers. John's secret to price is parts commonality.
If you want lightweight, your best bet is 18 inch front and rear. SSR wheels are the lightest I've seen.
Agreed. I went from stock 10 spokes and OEM Michelins to SSRs and Michelin Sport Cup tires. Knocked of a total of 72 lbs (42 lbs lighter for the wheels and 30 lbs for the tires). Really woke the car up.
the srt sidewinders are 12lb lighter each in front, 8lb lighter each in rear over 10 spoke and presumably other stock rims. Total weight diference 24front+16 rear = 40lbs a nice round number to remember.
Switching from ZP tires (run flat) to non ZP saves 3lb each front and 2lb each rear = 10lb saving.
