Hello all,
Just a note to say that I'm a new Viper Alley member and proud owner of a brand-new '06 GTS Blue coupe. I've owned 7 Vettes and just traded in my '96 Collector Edition (LT-4, all options, 27K original owner miles) on my new toy. After 11 years, I couldn't hold out any longer!
It was a toss-up between the Viper and a new Z06 and in the end, I think the Viper is just a better looking and more unique car. I am very happy with my choice but have ridden in a new Z and think they're awesome cars too. I think we're truly blessed and fortunate to live in a country where we have the ability and means to select between two fantastic muscle cars. My brother grew up in the 60s (me in the 70s) and I love the American muscle from those eras too. Needless to say though, the cars we have today put them to shame performance-wise.
I'm looking forward to many years of happy ownership and to the knowledge that you guys have to share. I've attached a couple pics for your viewing pleasure. When the weather clears up here and our taxiway work is completed, I'll send a couple more pics of the Snake and my other toy that's a real kick in the pants too!

Welcome and congrats! I wish I owned a viper when I was stationed in Italy but they were not around yet. Careful of the torque, even on a stock one. Bobby Archer offers drivers education courses out at Texas Motor Speedway in north FTW. Might be worth looking into. Welcome to ViperSpeed - The Home of Viper Performance! - (817) 877-1772. Have fun!
Thank you all for your warm wishes, kind words and advice regarding the car's power. As with airplanes, I plan on getting very comfortable in the cockpit before I start pushing any envelopes. She's still in the break-in period but I've done a little exploring and found that you are all 100% correct in warning me of the torque. I will definitely look into some training/education too. I have no desire to end up as a statistic due to not respecting this beast.
For anyone in or near the DFW area, I live in Flower Mound and am certainly up for some GTGs. Perhaps at Twin Peaks or Bone Daddy's in Grapevine when it's finished? The scenery at those two places is almost as nice as the Viper's!
Thank you all again for making me feel so welcome, I very much appreciate it.
