Does anyone out there have a turbo on a srt with stock pistions? I bought everything I need to do the turbo and get 1000hp, and didnt think about the pistons not holding up. I really dont want to pull the motor apart. does anyone know if I run a low boost and only get 800hp will the stock piston hold up? any sugestions?
douchiebag you still hear huh? Daddy let you trade in your fiero with rt/10 kit and now you found another to look like an srt huh? turbo kit too huh? Wake up noob, your dreaming asshat. You couldnt afford the fucking ring kit for a vipers pistons let alone the real deal. Loser.
ur a cock massaging, ass plowing, butt cheek eating, fat piece of decrepit horse shit. ANd I had a 4 sum with you wife, ur mother and you sister. How does that make you feel? I did not ask you, go to old country Buffet.

I did get my answer, SVS makes a bolt on kit that is suposedly safe for 5psi. I wont be getting my 1000hp, but I guess around 750hp. I guess will have to do.
It seems that there aren't any short cuts to big boosting turbo setups. The problem is that the price is utterly ridiculous. Even Heffner charges 45-60k for a turbo setup. Let me see, would I rather have a turbo or an additional low mileage Viper to play around in? I just don't get it. How the hell does a turbo setup cost so much money? How much could the parts possibly cost? 10k at most? Maybe I should buy Cheerios cereal and put a Viper sticker on the boxes and sell them for $1000 each.

Actually the parts are closer to five or six hundred dollars for the build on a 1000 rwhp car. All you need to do is buy the parts, you should easily be able to hire a few qualified technicians for five dollars per hour. Then all you need to do is have a building to work out of which you should be able to obtain for close to two or three cents per square foot. It's a fool proof formula for making millions.
Damn, you are a smart businessman! However, Hennessey has you topped since he charges 225k for a turbo Viper; talk about a tuner on crack! Maybe Heffner's Performance can explain how a turbo setup costs as much as a complete, new corvette. I don't mean to be disrespectful. Your reputation is stellar. I just don't understand the enormity of the prices for such work.

Prices are based on what the market will bear. I'm sure what ever you do or sell you would like to get as much for it as possible. If TT systems are selling at the current prices why would someone sell them for less?
I guess you are correct that the tuners are staying busy enough at the current prices. However, I am sure that their market would be much larger if the prices were not so steep.
Actually, parts costs are over 10k just for parts themselves. And it still takes xxx hours to install/build/tune/use-your-experiences-to-make-a-solid-system.
You think that labor is free?
Recall the story of the woman who can't find the damn sqeek in the floor. She calls the flooring guy to come in. He walks around for 3-4 minutes, puts one nail in the floor, takes out his hammer, and nails it in.
He writes her a bill for $75.75. It is itemized:
1 nail. - .75
Knowing where to hammer - $75 .
You also have to remember that the people who want the 1000hp Viper, want the 1000hp Viper. They could have afford multiple Vipers in the driveway but that's not what they want.
If you want something unique you have to pay for it.
