What's funny is you guys don't even know what went into that car and you're already saying that the price is too high. It's like if I were to go to a home builder and ask him for a price on a particular house and he tells me two million dollars. Then my response is "Holy cow! I could buy that house down the road and an Enzo for that kind of money." Nevermind that the one house is 7000 sf and overlooks the golf course and the other is 1500 sf overlooking a highway. I mean how much could the builder possibly have in parts for a two million dollar house? All he needs is some wood, some tile, a few appliances and fixtures. All of that couldn't come to more than 100,000 and the rest is profit right?
With all due respect, that argument is rubbish at best. There is only so much one can do to a Viper, unless he gold plated the motor, made a titanium frame for it, etc. Houses are not all the same size so of course there are big differences in prices. Materials in houses can be much different also. I'm sure that there are some people with so much money that 200k in mods is not a big deal. Unfortunately, I am not one of them and find it utterly ridiculous.
Well according to your calculations how much money can one spend in just parts on a Viper? And given that amount of parts how long will it take to do the install?

how many $200,000 bills have you guys put out? You are a very reputable shop. Im assuming SVS bought the car, did a built motor, custom fabbed turbo system, some body work such as carbon fiber roof, trunklid, hood, etc, mark williams rear end, fuel system, motec, tuning, install, wheels, tires, suspension, roll bar, custom interior, shifter, upgraded trans, tuning
$220,000 may not be too high for whats done but my question was what the hell did they do. Even henesseys turn key brand new SRT coupes are around that price range... car included. im just curiuos what the hell they did for 200 grand

If I had the experience, I would build it myself. I cannot answer your questions but I mentioned the fact that a turbo system costs as much as a new, complete corvette. Put in this perspective, it seems that the turbo systems are more than a bit pricey. Perhaps, it takes a lot of time and work to do the fabrication. I think that lots of Viper owners ponder things like, "Should I buy a turbo setup for the Viper I have or buy that 900 mile '02 GTS that is for sale? Then I would have 2 Vipers.".

Yea really.
Im intrested to know what the fuck was done to that car to get that kind of price.
I sure hope that car sets some records of some kind with that much money into it.
listen man ... its really not that difficult to understand. If you want a turbo system by a reputable tuner .... pay the price. period. end of story. no if's and's or's or but's.
stop trying to compare the price of a turbo system to the price of a brand new car. what the fuck does that mean ?
thats like saying I shouldnt have purchased my watch because I could buy a toyota for the same price. I dont want a toyota, I want a fucking watch.
If someone wants a turbo system on thier viper, thats what they want ... and if they make the decision to go forward then they have the money to do so. If you cant do it for some reason ... then thats your problem, stop crying and bitching.
I cant afford an enzo, or an 80' hatteras ... big fuckin deal, I dont cry about it.
also: you act like high end viper tuner turbo systems are the only things marked up. LMAO ... how much do you think it costs DELL to make that computer your typing on that you just paid 2k for ???

You mean Dell is making a profit too!!!wtf, lol. no wonder Mr. Dell is a fucking billionaire. Here I assumed Dell Computer was his side job and he was making his Billions selling hotdogs out of a New York City barf wagon.
I think there are a few things that add to the price over some other cars.
One, the volume is so low on these cars that every build is essentially a one-off job. I guarantee no one is buying 100 of anything which is still very low volume.
Two, the Viper is a hand built car with huge tolerances that requires every system to be "custom fit" to that car.
Three, every Viper owner wants their own unique build. Who here ordered the #6 from their tuner? Everybody wants something different. I would bet that everybody ordering the #6 would have the biggest impact on costs.
Anybody ever meet a rich Viper tuner?
Keep in mind, a turbo system is not an outright cost as there is a residual value when it is time to sell. It has been my experience selling and seeing multiple cars that the Heffner cars hold their value very well but nearly all turbo systems will have some residual. If you start thinking 10 grand or 15 grand to have 1000 hp for the next couple years, it starts sounding much more palatable (and fun).

i didnt know if it was standard to just do mods no matter what the cost then bill later or not notify the customer if the bill goes up... lets say a hundred grand.
you dont have to answer if you dont want to but how many $200,000 plus bills have you sent out for one car for one customer? just curious
I know you probably have some customers with multiple cars that have spent over 200k combined but how many bills for over 200k for just one car for one customer?
again, i know its confidential but no hurt in asking!

How much money do you make a year? (tacky huh) How about this, what did you pay for your home? (tacky too huh?) Why is it any shred of your business to ask a man your tacky fucking questions. You just keep pushing the envelope for stupidity don't you.How bout you grab some wood on the sidelines and read a little more and post a whole lot less around here. Maybe the retarded babbling with the occasional nutsuckling drool is welcomed at hicksondicks.com but I can assure you it is nothing but painful to read. Just when you thought we were becoming friends
