Extended Warranty Question

When I purchase my 06' SRT-10 Coupe, should I get an extended Warranty?
If so, then how much can I expect to pay?

There are mixed feelings on warrantys - some think they are the biggest waste of money on the planet and others think they offer a good piece of mind for the cash. I got my monies worth on my first Viper's ('94) warranty and will buy one for the one I will be getting in a couple weeks. Prices vary a LOT so check around!

I paid $1,800 for the extended warranty on my 94 to extend warranty to 7 years and 36,000 miles. Car had 14,200 miles when I bought it and had 19,500 when the 7 years expired. I had $5,000 worth of remairs done under warranty. Alternator, head gaskets, A/C hoses etc. You can purchase the extended warranty at any time as long as the original warranty is still in place. Dealers charge wastly different amonunts for the same warrranty, so shop around. I bought mine from Fitzgerald Dodge for much less than I could buy it at my local Dodge dealer. You might also check Woodhouse Dodge and Chuck Tator, as these dealerships are strongly Viper orientated.

For an example, it will cost me $1440 for a 7 year/50k mile Chrysler Max Care warranty ($50 deduct) on a 2005. That is worth it IMO.
