Whenever I hear of 'Senator Gasbag' proposing something like this I can't help wondering if when he was a child the big kids beat him up & took away his toys.
Although it's true high horsepower cars can use a lot of gas, they represent such a small proportion of the cars on the road, and generally are driven less. This is especially true of Vipers.
The cost of high powered cars really limits the number of them on the road, but SUV's seem to be all around.
Personally I think you should be able to buy & drive whatever you want, and think idiots like 'Senator Gassbag' should be beaten.
Remember the 55 MPH speed limit? Barf!
Things I do remember fondly:
1. When network news was creditable.
2. When almost anything American was better than anything from some place else. This was especially true of cars.
3. When government represented the PEOPLE, not the Big Money PACs.
4. When people took personal responsibility for their actions.
5. When the American economy was the strongest anywhere in the world.
6. When we didn't manufacture everything in China.
Just my .02,
Mike Dolan
