Door help

Okay I installed some door overlays. And when I close the door, there is a white thing that comes in teh way and "scratches" the overlay, I have protection over the overlay right now, but I was told by the company who sold me the overlay to push it into the body or cut it off.. Well I can't push it into the body because it won't go, I'm wondering if i cut it off, is it needed? Help please before I do something stupid and regret it =) Get back, if you don't get what I"m talking about. I'll post pics..

Can I cut this thing off or ??

just push it into the body, you have to squeeze the 2 taps together and push up. It will go

I tried earlier, the Driver's side goes a bit, but the passenger side won't budge at all.. alright, i'm going to go try again, ill be back shortly... gotta clean the rims too haha
