Viper will not start

I have a 2003 viper low miles [2k] When I tried to start the car all that happened was the dash lights would flas whenever I pushed the start button.. Figured it was time for a new battery.. Put in a new battery and nothing.. Checked the new battery after instaling and it was showing a dead short.. Picked up another battery installed it and same deal.. All the fuses seem to be ok.. Is there a fusable link somewhere that I am missing.. If anyone has any ideas let me know... I will have it towed to the dealer on Monday, but would rather fix it myself Thanks

The last time I had an issue like that (non-viper), it was a badly corroded ground cable. Of course, 4 years (2003-present) would make that to not be likely. However, it's something I wouldn't totally dismiss.

On my '04 the battery connections had so much corrosion on them I had to replace them. Less than 3,000 miles.

Yikes! Kenny, where do you call home? Was it in any way weather/climate related? Or just bad luck?

On my ground cable, the corrosion was actually on the chassis side of the cable and was corroded well behind where the plastic insulation hid it from a quick visual view.

The car was actually at Huffines until I bought it brand new in August 2005. They were corroded then, but I didn't mess with it until a couple of months ago. Home is NOLA.
