Paxton on the track?

Are there any problems running a paxton on the track? I asked around and was told the problem is too much heat. Is this true?

Thanks,

Do you plan on putting the Paxton on a car or just running it straight, LOL. Just kidding, I 1/4 mile my GTS and don't have any heat issues.

There are plenty of people running the Paxton at the road course. The only thing you will notice is that with the heat soak you will be down abot 80 hp from a cold pull. Other than this just make sure you have a comp coupe oil pan and pickup before any track days.

Stay away from the Streets of Willow, not suited for a Viper, though I've run it 3-4 times. I have about 2,000 laps at Willow Springs and it is a great track for a Viper. Speeds are usually high there so lots of cooling, your problem will come when you run July-Sept., can get to 110 there.

When are you planning on running there and with what club? Where are you located? Check out Open Track Racing it's the local club, there's a run day on 3/14. How much experience do you have road racing?

I run Streets of Willow primarily with the POC (Porsche Owners Club). Viper eats them alive. I have run the big track at Willow and thats a whole new beast. I already have the Comp Coupe Pan. I have my Short Track License through POC.

Cool, I've run with PCA (Porsche Club of America), a member of POC invited me to run with them but POC said no to my RT/10. I've run the Streets with my Viper at 1:31s and figured it for a smaller, lighter car track. I've turned 1:30 at the big track.

I really enjoy the people at the POC. Nice folks and very well run. I wonder how lonmg they'll let me continue with the Viper now that Im Porsche-less.
