Anyone upgraded to the DCX RB-1 Navigation Radio?

I noticed someone has these for sale on ebay for $699 (new in box) -- eBay Motors: Chrysler Dodge Jeep RB1 GPS NAVIGATION DVD CD RDS WoW! (item 200072490707 end time Feb-03-07 12:35:34 PST) --normally the dealer sells for $1,300+. Just wondering if anyone has upgraded to this and if so, is it a decent nav system?

yes, its plug and play...the antenna mounts right on top of the radio to remain hidden....the head unit is much better than the stock neon piece of crap....
while you are at it, get the sirius and the ipod....they are all plug and play and hidden behind the dash

Thanks. Can you control your ipod directly from the head unit?

ZEN- what kind of iPod controller issues have you run into? I have installed a crap load of them, and have only had one issue, which was eventually traced back to a bad wiring harness. Just curious...

i believe it was my ipod, a 60g video that caused the problems....nothing major but the only time the song and artist came on was when I started the car.

If it was unique to your ipod, problem solved. However, that is the EXACT problem I had with the one with a bad wiring harness. The Song/Artist info wire was crossed with one of the controller wires. It was months ago, but it was such a pain in the ass that I believe I remember correctly: it was the orange/white wire crossed with the purple/white wire on the radio harness side of the controller.

Talk to NoRice he purchased the one I had when I pulled it out of my car for a Z1. He may still have it for sale.

Pioneer Z1 -- Amazing radio if you are into that stuff. We have them in all but one of our cars. It does take some custom work to get them in the Viper since it is a double din radio.

I dont beleiev it wil work on Gen II. I could be wrong as I havent looked very closely. But I did just install one in my 06 Coupe and love it. It looks they way it should have from the factory.

I don't think it will plug into a Gen II.

I sold mine, never used it after buying from Chris. The chances of me being lost somewhere in my Viper were nil.

The RB1 does away with the changer and makes it a single CD correct?
