I don't care if it becomes production or simply off the shelf to order - long as it is available.
I'd like to plan on an 08 Coupe with the titanium rods etc, but I'd really like to change the firing order so will have to look hard at what that is going to take to see if it is feasible. I'm thinking that all it will need will be a special cam billet and the ability to swap the base maps over to a different firing order then fine tune. Twin turbos will be a given, so the pistons would be going west anyway. A Venom or CC carbon body kit, a few engine tweaks and full blueprint, then direct port water injection and I'll be happy.
This is the first Gen 3 I'm actually thinking of planning to buy as I was always going to get an GTS and build a carbon TT supercar out of it. The Srt10 won't look as good but the difference will be small enough to want the better engine and fundation to work from instead.
I like one of the stripes. I feel like two is to many. If the red stripe were to be the matte black and everything else was the same color as the rest of the car (slate on this one i believe, which goes great with the black) i think it would look awsome. One on top of the other looks cheesy to me though. I like the wheels and the stripe on the steering wheel, as long as it can be matched to the color of the stripe i think its a neat feature.
The engine looks cool also, i have to say though that i dont really enjoy the new air intake. The two looks good on the Gen I and II but that was a completely different manifold. I liked the single TB on the Gen III motors. I know that two TB make tuning more difficult, will the electronic throttle make that even harder?
Anyhow, i think that making this car the new ACR would be a good idea. I think it would be fun to wait till this "blue devil" comes out and have the ACR already made. So they day they announce it DC pops this thing out, just to fuck with them. Overall, i like it, but i wont own one for many years, so it really doesnt matter that much.
I don't get it, most people on here have complained about the Gen III's look since it was first shown. Now, with a vented hood and slightly lowered, some of you guys are talking about how the car looks great. The car still has the same issues with it's design that have bothered me from the get go. Sure, the hood, cool paint, and lowered stance make it look better but the car still lacks what it really needs to make it a great looking car. I am not going to complain about the bump in power, that is great, but it isn't going to make me think the car actually looks that much better than I did yesterday.

That's your opinion. Some of us, including myself like the appearance of the Gen3 much better than the previous years.
someone send me their 06 so I can paint it like that, minus the stripe. I have another matte black project car that will roll out of my shop in a month or so, unfortunately its not a vipe.
matte black done right looks baddass!
Anyone can purchase totally custom titanium rods for $350 a piece from several different companies. What is the big deal with titanium rods all of a sudden?? Are you guys wanting to rev a n/a engine to 9000 rpm's?
If you are running a turbo system the titanium rods will have a hard time making a lot of power at that extreme RPM. You will have to go with at least a billit I beam or 300M rod.
To clarify, because I was always a major detractor to the SRT styling: I love the way the car looks in the first picture - if the only styling changes are to the hood and a CC splitter, then they need some help on the bodywork.
