I saw the same add that included the 3k gas guz tax included in the "Buy it now price" and at that time it was 71k and change. It's dropped some more if it was the same add. If it was another add, it was same info but just priced at 71k.
Oh come on the Viper hardly handles like a dream does it. I have had my mates at Lotus work on mine and its better than before, but really the whols set up needs redesigning!

Wow, this is the first time I have EVAR heard that the Viper does not handle well! Do you really own a Viper and have driven it at the track? Your opinion would pretty much disagree with every magazine out there that has tested the car and every track driver who gets behind the wheel of a Viper on the track.
What about it specifically do you not like or you think needs redesigning?
Agreed. My perception of the Viper intially was that it was a straight line machine, but after driving one, that opinion changed. The car handles VERY WELL for a stock vehicle. Can it be better? Sure, anything can be better. Is it bad? Hell NO!!
I have never come across a real driver who likes the way it handles. Its all over the place. I have had 6 Vipers now and they are getting better gradually, but my Zo6 still walks all over them!
Who says I'm not serious? I have had Vipers for years and in every shape and form. Supercharged, turbo, and twin turbo. Sure they are fast, but they hardly handle like a european car do they!

So, anyone that says the Viper's handling is ok, they can't drive?
Hmm.
I love them for what they are. Glorious looking and they are one of the best cars I have driven when you add the twin turbos, as long as there are no bends.
I will be the first to say that the Viper is not as "surefooted" as my GT, but with some coilovers, I think it will be.
Maybe the drivers that don't like the Viper need the onboard nannies helping them out. I love the fact that the Viper has no traction control or any other computer nannies.
What Euro car can run with a Viper in the speed department, whoop it's ass in handling, and still cost under $90K?
Please do not take my posts as hostile, but your previous posts make you look like a troll.
No car can, thats why i have had 6. The only car for the money is the Zo6. Sure my Viper TT will piss all over it on the strip, but on the track its the other way round. I'm with you, on the european cars, sure they handle better, but look at the cost!
This douchebag is a troll who is obviously trying to instigate. The Vipers have kicked ass in GT racing whenever they have participated. The fact is that a Gen 3 Viper clearly handles better than a Z06. There isn't any question of that. The nanny controls in the Z06 merely hide some of the inherent handling problems.
While I don't think the viper is perfect at handling, I do think it is pretty good. I don't think the handling is what is bringing the price down.
I think the Z06 is what is bringing the price down. That, and every mag has the same complaint, which is essentially how unrefined the car is. I personally enjoy loud exhaust and no traction control, but things like the leg burning side exhaust, oven interior tramlining (tires following curves in the road) are things nobody likes. In fact, the make the car a chore to drive, which is never a good thing for a car in this price range when there are similarly priced and agrueably better alternatives.

I own a gen II, and for all of the things that you noted regarding the rawness of these cars is why I own one. I like a car that makes you think and keeps you on your toes. Anyone can become a better driver when electronics are taking care of the variables that your ass and brain are supposed to be taking care of...that is what makes these cars so much fun and why those who own them buy them.
