Jeezus, for the past year everyone said 600 was mandatory. Dodge delivers and still you guys bitch. 600hp. "Oh fine, but the hood sucks." Unfuckingbelievable. Buy a Vette and have fun looking at my ass. Buncha crybaby bitches.
Please, PLEASE, buy a Vette but don't go away. I'm gonna love watching ya'll eat shit.
Most of you are just posers anyway. Dodge could put a 4cylinder VTEC in a Gen II and ya'll would have your dick in one hand and a bottle of Zaino in the other.
Raising the bar again, 512 cubic inches of pissed off American horsepower. Congrats Dodge!
Bullshit, I'm one of the dissapointed, but not for the reasons you are stating.
I'm dissapointed because I wanted dodge to deliver something that would make me call woodhouse immediately after putting down the latest issue of road and track and simply say "Hey Bill, I want one in black." That didn't happen.
They addressed some good issues, more power, better brakes, better differential and some weight loss. It just isn't enough to make me trade in the SRT.
Is is a good car, yes. Is it a fast car, yes. Is it what some of the Gen II owners needed to move up, yes.
However, is it enough to make current Gen III owners make a change, the answer is no. So here I sit, someone who has never waxed my viper and relies on the rain to wash the car, yet beats the living shit out of it, and I am dissapointed.
Basically in the end you can take the poser resale bullshit and shove it up your ass. They didn't make it across the finish line for me and it really is just that fucking simple.
Well something has you and a few others bent outta shape. And since the performance factor is covered it must be the lack of pretty shiny hoods and electronic nannies. Boohoo.
You're entitled to be disappointed. Wait for 2011 if it bugs you so much. But if 600 hp aint doing it for you something tells me the next gen won't have you changing your avatar message either.
Right now I am doing exactly that, 2011 will coincide nicely with the warranty on my 04 expiring.
I wanted something that got my panties all wet and made me hot and bothered. I'm hoping the full Gen IV does that for me.
It's not the HP number or the 0-60 time, god knows I can't launch well enough for it to make any difference, it's a good car and they did a good job. They just didn't do enough to get me out of my 2004.
Unless I get divorced I will always be sexually frustrated, I've come to accept that and watch a lot of porn. I have found that the driving position of the Viper actually makes my penis smaller, I wonder if they managed to fix that, but since I don't get to use my penis does it really matter?
Just a rhetorical question, there's no need to answer.
This is what I suspected DC would do, a band aid fix. I've been saying it for the longest time. Fuck the vette....the viper's target should be the Enzo.
So far, I think this is a step in the right direction. But..they still have a long ways to go. They need about 66hp and loose 400lbs. 666hp and 3000lbs...that has a nice ring to it.

You're just pissed because the GEN III 1/2 doesn't come with a salt shaker...
I am just irritated at the bench racing...just as I was with the Z06 before it came out.

Internet porn can solve so many of the world's problems. But alas, that is a topic for another thread.
Bottom line: The viper as a model will never again have that boyish amazement and "wow" factor as it had when it was 1st launched throughout the gen II run....there was something special about owernship during that time that sadly will never again be part of the experience in the same way.
It is really unrealistic to expect magic like that to happen again. I knew when I bought my 98 and drove it back to Tampa from Detroit that I would never experience that feeling again.
The GenI & II was a once in a lifetime happening. An obnoxious, in-your-face, totally impractical car in a PC world. And everybody loved it.
Enjoy the memories and move forward to a better and faster car. And be thankfull DC has focused on power instead of gadgets.

Maybe Chuck is right....I should just give up on the viper dream.
I wish DC would make a splash again with the GEN IV. They are on the right track...it just need a little more power and a whole lot of that "X" factor.
