I am curious if anyone road racing their SRT has had any issues with the fuel pickup around long/hard turns. And if so, at what tank levels were the problems experienced? Thanks.
There are a lot of us that road race the SRT. The fuel pickup is not a problem, but the oil pickup is. That can easily be replaced by comp coupe oil pan with swingarm pickup.
The other thing that should be done is the autoform roll bar or hardtop. The stock hoops aren't worth shit if anything really bad was to happen.
BTW, the SRT is fucking fantastic on a road course. It routinely rapes cars that are twice the price.
Good to hear. I ask because I have played with the SRT fuel pump assembly while performing upgrades and I was curious how well its primary siphon that fills its internal surge tank functions at lower tank levels, such as 1/4 tank. BTW I do not own one, I have just worked on them.
The comp coupe oil pan is pretty cool, I have played with a couple in person. The swingarm is a pretty interesting idea that I had never seen in action before that. The vipers oil pan is so long and wide with no real sump area that it makes sense that there would be oil control problems.
Just a few ... See my post of about 6 months ago where I grenaded my engine.
Luckily they stand behind the product and I got a full arrow racing rebuild under warranty.
BTW, I used to own a 350ZR with a stillen blower (I was one of the first to have a custom 8 pound pulley done). I remember you from the my350z forums. You did some really nice work but there were just far too many assclowns over at that site. I don't go there any more.
If I remember correctly you had some serious nutswinger action going on, glad to see you migrated over here.
Yea the Z forums are a little unrealistic at times. The Z car has been abandoned by most of the hardcore tuners, and that left a void for pretty much anyone with an intimidating vocabulary to fill.
I started building Z's when the 350 came out, but I am out of that now. I am still a partner in a small side business that manufactures some parts for the Z, and I still have mine - so I am frequent to that forum.
I've been around here for a couple years. I just happen to have a lot of friends with Vipers and spent a little time working on them at a shop. I am in the wrong business to ever afford one without much sacrifice.
