My silly wife got excited and meant to type in a bid of 75 but hit 76k and she won the bid. I already have a new Viper (not a VOI) on the way to my house tomorrow (which I got a great deal on and am still paying more than 76k). I can just back out of the VOI9 but I thought that maybe I could help one of my Viper brethren out by buying it and selling it. Hell, the car is certainly worth more than that, right? Any ideas? It's white with blue stripes, of course.

She bid on it and intended on buying it if it came in around 74k or so. She clicked the wrong # and hit a 6 for 76 as highest bid. She ended up winning by one dollar! She was hoping that someone would bid higher because once her unintentionally high bid went in, it was too late to lower it. It was not a good experience! After the bid, she wrote to the seller and explained what happened. She told him to offer it to the next highest bidder but has not heard back from him yet. I was not trying to pull a fast one but feel obligated to buy the car now and I don't need two Vipers as much as I can use the 76k. 74k was just a bit too tempting but 76k? Still a great deal but I would rather hold on to the money and give it to the other guy. So far, no word from the seller.

Stop the bitching. Somebody else wants to buy the car anyway from the dealer so no harm was done. If anything her inadvertent actions caused the price to go up from what it was. Therefore, the seller did well by her involvement. I thought that only vette owners acted like such bitches and I am not talking about the reactions from this forum. They are whining like whores about it, over at VCA. Lets not be crying bitches here as well. I am banned at VCA so I cannot even respond there to the hysterics.

She put in the bid with about 20 minutes to go. Then, once she saw the 76 rather than 75, she tried to pull it and couldn't. Even so, we thought that somebody would outbid it. When it got to 2 minutes, I got worried. With about 45 seconds left a few bids came in because her bid began to go up, although it was still under the 76k. When 10 seconds came around, it was very stressful. When it got to 5, 4, I said, "Oh shit!". Then of course came the "Congratulations! You are the winning bidder!" SON OF A BITCH! And of all things, this super deal had to happen on the day that my viper is being shipped to me. On the positive side, I am buying the Viper from Mike Robbins of Ringgold Dodge and he is a great guy. You know how it is. The day a beautiful female offers her body to you with no strings attached, you just got married. Somebody has to be behind these sordid conspiracies. God, is this your idea of a practical joke?
It's really not a big deal. If nobody else wanted the VOI9, I could still buy it myself and later sell two of my vettes to make back the money. I did not intend on stiffing the seller by any means and felt responsible for making sure it was sold one way or the other.
Have you ever used this before? I have been waiting for something like this to come along. I hate those last second, snipe your shit from right under you, fuckers.
Although I must say, I have done it to other people every so often.

I have been using eSnipe for over four years without a hitch. Easy to use and definitely helps win stuff. As a seller I hate it (the more early bids the better), but as a bidder I wouldn't bid any other way. Here's another tidbit: If there are a lot of the same item (Playstation 3, etc.) look for the ones that end in the middle of the night (2AM - 4AM) and place a snipe bid on them first. The "real" bidders are usually either in bed or too drunk to surf eBay. You will win lots of stuff cheap while you sleep!
i signed up for esnipe a few years ago after I lost a freakin auction by one dollar...I have not lost an auction since...and yes, it is good to look for auctions that end at off hours, or even better, an auction that is mislisted
