Actually the '07 Z06 seems to weigh more than the '06 and the weight difference is only a bit over 200 pounds at this point. I believe that the Z06 typically makes about 10 more hp as well. The good news is that it is quite easy to take off about 150 pounds on the Viper through Atro's exhaust, wheels & tires and 2 piece aluminum rotors. With these mods, the Viper should be right there with the Z06 in terms of straight line performance and remain a far better built car.

No. But no-one keeps there Viper stock for long.... If someone ran 1000 runs and experimented with temp., tire pressures, launches, etc... at the BEST track in the US for fast times (elevation) + perfect outside temps., and had drag radials..... If all this were true, then yes, I think a 10 might be possible. And this is what it took for the C6 Z06.
The Z06 is fast, but compared to the Viper, it is a piece of shit, quality wise. I was not even intending on getting a Viper. I have always owned vettes and was waiting for a fast one. When it finally came out, I was going to get it. Then I did some research and found that the Viper was much more of what I wanted. I also don't want any part of the corny ass vette crowd. They make me sick.

Your so right. The guys at corvetteforum are so fucking gay. They blow each other whenever someone gets some new floor mats. EnglandGreen is like their "God" over there.
Those corny gaybirds made me ashamed to be a corvette owner. I remember homosexual posts like, "What will you buy for your vettie for X mas this year?" and "Are you going to drive your vette to work for its anniversary?". Those gay cocksuckers have to be the corniest bastards on the face of the earth. When I pointed out their embarrassing ways, they packed on me like a bundle of mice. In the end, I am thankful because I am getting my '06 Viper coupe tomorrow and I can't be happier about it.

The Viper will be arriving today. It is blue with silver stripes and was bought from Mike Robbins of Ringgold Dodge. I will take some pics when it arrives.

Why would one announce where they bought it? They don't do that goofy shit over on the corvetterforum!Bahahahahaha
If the new Corvette can do it why cant the Viper? So I'm asking has anyone done it?
Corvette has titanium rods, hi-po exhaust manifolds AND exhaust, dry sump, higher red line - which means no 3.07 gears, etc.. there's probably more I'm leaving out.
Basically just a lot of engineering when into it, instead of only dropping a big CI motor in it and leaving it at that.
I hated the looks of the new Vette/Z06 at first, but now it looks like a sectioned radical racer.
Seems every time I went to my local drag strip this past Fall there was always at least one Z06 running. No matter what kind of knucklehead was driving, it was doing 125mph and easy 12.90s. Apparently stock..a few had dealer stickers on the windshield.
I ought to be checking into that BS. If some dealer is letting friends and family take an unsold car out for some drag racing, the 'owner' will be getting a raw deal someday.

You sound like a mustang driver with that doesn't stay stock crap.
As for running 10s and what was required to run them, do you think that no one has put effort into getting a decent time out of the viper? Are people only experimenting with launches and tire pressure at decent tracks with vettes?
