Well, I know that nothing has been done to the car but there could be a few bolts missing from 1tony1 using it as a parts vehicle. Anyway, it is stock even to the filters and made ~425rwhp at a vca dyno day. Tony was gracious enough to let me borrow the car for the heffner weekend (bradenton)and I got to make a few runs.
First run Sunday 11.83@119.5mph
Second run 11.96@120.5
Third run 12.05@103 on the brakes hard to not brake out!
The third run also yielded the best 1/8 mile mph @95.3
Unfortunately I don't have any video of that run in digital format so if someone would be so kind as to post their video it would be much appreciated. BTW, 60' times were high 1.8x to low 1.9x.
This past Saturday I went to Atco Raceway in NJ with my truck and a couple of '04 Vipers. Temps were in the 40's, and the track was sticky enough to yield 1.9 60's on stock tires for all three of us.
One Viper is bone stock with about ~9,000 miles. He went 12.97 @ 121.
The other Viper has the Mopar cat-back, which I think he said eliminates the rear cats as well(?). Otherwise stock. He ran 11.77 @ 120.
I picked up 2 mph with the cold air and got a new best as well.
What is the highest trap speed recorded for a SRT? I mean i was hoping to hear at least 124-125... if most people are getting 119 how can people argue that its a drivers race against the new Z06? when that thing is traping 126-129???

Maybe 0-80 would be a drivers race. But after 100 the srt starts losing ground quickly.
Over the weekend I didn't see a higher mph for a "stock" gen3. There was a z06 there, optic z06 i think, who I think had headers and ran 126-127mph in quarter and 11.35 et. Very impressive!

That dude can drive his ass off though. He always has new cars and can turn some good times with them. He had an 03 Cobra that was pulling impressive numbers when I had my Z06 a few years back. Still doesn't explain the trap speed. I thought Vipers were around 123-125 myself.
The 08 viper better be 129-131 MPH or they will be way behind the vette and lose the viper base they currently have. THat vette definitely made me wonder.
IF you spin down the track you usually get a little higher mph but I still dont think it would have been 123. It would have been nice to have had a 445rwhp stock car run down the track and see what it would do.
I did a 12.09 @ 120.5 a while back at San Antonio w/ a stock 04. I had a kinda crappy 2.0 60', so I'm sure a 123-4 trap is possible. My 1/8th was 96.3.
Can't remember the air temps and humidity, but it was a sunny day in March at Tx2k5.
I think I could have made the 11's, but it was a pretty new car at the time and I only got to make 2 passes.
