My dealership is Southland Dodge in Houma, Louisiana. I have had my car in for a door latch problem...and no problems. There are lots of reputable dealers! The key is to know your dealer and preferably buy your car from that dealer.
The most important advice I can give....know your dealer, know your salesman and know your mechanic. I know the dealer owners, and when my car goes in for service, I ask for a specific mechanic...(he isn't Viper certified) but I can walk through service and go talk to him even if he is under a car.
I trust him totally with my car and he is a long time friend of my husband. It also helps that we are friends with the guy who owns the dealer and my husband sells cars for the dealership.
My best advice is get chummy with your service people. Bring them Viper related items at christmas, visit occasionally, buy your car from a local dealer....get to know the mechanics......
If they know you and you are a nice guy, then there is less chance they will do something silly.
If you are a dick.....then you can bet they won't care.
It may sound like a lot of effort, but I had a Z06 for 5 years and never one dealer incident. If you are friends with your dealership and they know you...you have less of a chance of something stupid occuring.
