Woodhouse dodge modified stock shifter is awesome, I have one on my coupe. I have not tried others with the viper, but with previous vehicles I have used B&M, Pro 5.0 and the Hurst, and I have to say I like the Woodhouse the best.

I am sure all the after market shifters for the Viper will be better than stock.

On my 2006 coupe I have mopar hurst shifter with mgw knob. Very nice shifter--shifts quick. Comes with instructions and the needed parts to install from the top.

We put shifter in from the top - it was going to be difficult installing under neath the Viper without a lift.

You and me both. Makers Mark before and Pinot Grigio during and after dinner. Alleve ain't working and I'm out of vicodin. I guess it's time for another Makers and Diet Coke.

Back on topic, I got in on the SVS group buy on their shifter but haven't installed it yet because I am going to do it at the same time as my 3:55 gears. People on the m.Org seem to favor the SVS over the Hurst and B & M.

The MGW shifter is a definite improvement, but the throws are still long in my opinion. I recently bought/received my SVS short-ratio shifter along with a 1" shorter connecting bolt as part of a group by over on the morg. It looks like a high quality/durable piece compared to stock. Once I get it installed, I will be in a position to provide my perceptions compared to the stock shifter.

I wanted to get the SVS but in the summer it was going to take a long time to get the shifter. So I went with hurst.

Domcall I got the first strike mgw knob and put it on stock shifter and it really helped. The hurst even made shifting better. Try the mgw knob on the stock shifter and see how you like it ,and then later if you want to change you can still use the mgw knob.
