If the car is bone stock then yes it is pretty bad. Getting rid of the cats and running some high flow mufflers makes it much better. I drove a stock srt and it was hot hot hot!

Here is a link for the best exhaust available. Unlike Corsa and Borla, they also provide insulation to further prevent heat from entering the interior. They also remove about 68 pounds of weight. Below is the link for Atro Racing.

The most important thing is to get rid of the cross-over. To that end the corsa track and the borla both do a good job and people have good things to say about both.

Actually, the position of the catalytic converters also contributes a lot of heat. The large mufflers don't help much, either. Atro Racing has the answer, more so than Corsa.

Ive had the corsa track with stock cats on my 2006 coupe for a few weeks. I like the sound and performance but the sills still get hot especially around town and after Viper sets for a few minutes. I mean they get hot-in certain areas of the sill anything other than a quick touch and you will get a burn.

Sometimes I wish I had looked further into Atro racing exhaust. Probably will go with high flow cats later on.

I kinda wish they put our exhaust out the back like the GenII GTS.

Yeah that would have been alot better putting them out the back. But I do have to say that I love the side exhausts. Reminds me of the old Vettes andw Cobras. The more that I read about Atro the more that I am liking them. Fairly expensive but at least you get performance, sound and cuts down on the heat. But how much will they really cut down on the heat??

Seems like others have better luck with the heat problem using the corsa track than I have. I thought the sills would be cooler with corsa.

Really the heat dont bother me ,I just do not want the paint on the sills to turn color like some have experienced. So far the sills seem to be taking the heat ok. The system was installed properly and welded ,so the corsa is not moving,

I am wondering how things are going to be in hot summer months.

BTW I drilled holes in the liner to get more air to the system. I may drill larger holes tomorrow.

The Atro racing exhaust also includes insulation. The stock setup as well as the Corsa does not include the insulation so the heat goes right into the interior. Apparently, the Atro exhaust provides a tremendous improvement in interior heat. I will be buying my Viper in early December and it is one of the mods I am certain to add. Keep in mind that the exhaust also removes about 68 pounds and even more without cats. The Corsa removes about 20 pounds. Even if you have a Corsa, you should give Atro a call. I believe that they can provide insulation for that exhaust, which should help matters.

I experienced different results--My corsa mufflers were wraped with heat tape and the system seemed to retain heat longer . I took the tape off and things seem to cool down quicker.

Where does it say on the Atro site that the exhaust system has insulation?
