Sell or Not to Sell, That is the Question!

Looking for some advice from my friends on the alley, many of which will probably flame me for even asking such a question, BUT....

A friend offered me a really decent price for my new coupe.... it is the FE Blue and White which matches my 97 GTS... both are Hennessey cars which I have thought made for a pretty unique pair... a pair which may be worth something someday AND both are cars I really enjoy driving.

With that being said having 3 vipers I only have 353 miles on my coupe, 100 of which I put on last weekend... So I have not really drove it at all to truly enjoy it...

I am finally really starting to appreciate the car (no comparison to my GTS in the beginning and now I am liking it) and am having a tough time deciding what to do...

Another factor is the lack of news on the 08 viper, which may or may not change (RAISE  ??) prices on our coupes??? which may leave me wishing I had kept it...

on a side note, I do not need to sell the car, am still losing a little $$ considering I paid 92 for the car new and put the venom kit, tint, clearbra, KWs, etc... (20g) on it, but only losing around 10 grand...

that equates to about $28.32 per mile

Simply put, sell or no?

Wouldn't the GTS retain more value than an SRT built 9 years after it was? Tough call man, really.

Actually I did, the 99 Z07 that SW built and was featured in a couple of magazines... Black on Black... another buddy had to have it so it went down the road as well...

I am keeping my other 99 as it is completely set up for road racing - MTI 427 and all the goodies... love it...

You already have a GTS, so that would make two GTS's and one Coupe. I know the graphite car isn't going anywhere, but could you really part with the blue GTS? Probably not. The coupe is more car all around, but take the bill while you can. Lose your 10 before you end up losing 20-30.

Keep it. I think the car matches your GTS perfectly as you mentioned. Plus you have already spent the time and effort making it like you want it. Cars suck anyway from an investment perspective so just do what makes you happy but I would keep them.

Nice stable by the way.. Those are some of my all time favorites on your list.

If I was in your shoes. I am not you, but you asked so.....

Sell everything but the 96 GTS(maybe add TT and ABS to the 96) and Busa. Then think long and hard about what cars I'd really like to have. Then buy them and enjoy. I've never had much love for the SRT's. I've seen only 2 SRT's that I liked. Wane F's. Street Comp coupe and Tuckers old SRT-C

If you free up enough cash from selling all the other toys. You could buy just about anything you wanted. Want an Enzo...go for it. Want a S7-TT you can get it. Want a Veryon...why not. Have the need for a Zonda S....then have your needs meet.

You can have a ton of cars, but it's really hard (at least for me) to really enjoy too many toys at one time. I've decided I'm happy with one sports car and my bike. If I want a boat or another car....one of the other toys will have to go. I just wouldn't have the time to really enjoy all of them.

Quality...not Quantity

Tough choice and I prefer the Gen3 but in this case I would say sell it because it would be much harder to replace that gorgeous B/W Gen2.

If I had those two cars in my garage beside each other someone would have to beat me to a pulp and pry them away from me. I would definitely keep the Gen 2 if I had to decide between them but since you don't...keep both

I would want to keep the Gen 2 pristine because it is a B/W Gen 2. I would drive the Gen 3 to death for the fun of it You have the perfect situation...the ability to drive the crap out of one and make the other a garage queen

If you are only losing $10K after spending that much money, I'd jump on that faster than I'd jump on Jessica Alba. I'm not slamming the Coupe - She's a beauty. But the reality is that you generally don't get back that kind of money on a modified vehicle. I'd go for it!

What would you get to replace it? I would only sell it if you are going to replace it with something comparable or something better.

I agree with Mike. I think you are getting a great offer for the car, and it seems like an offer that may never come around again. It is a nice car, but it is a nice offer for it too.

OK, you asked...if you need the money, sell both. OTHERWISE, you'd be nuts to sell either car. They are very unique pair and I would keep both...

Ray, sell the damn coupe already. Go get you a 575 or something like that to drive for a while. I know you won't do this, but do you really need the graphite car? Seeing all the TT cars bringing 100 plus, I would sell that monster and the coupe. You really can't sell the b/w GTS, and if you do, its new home will be at Casa de Tucker. Money isn't the option here, so keep what makes you smile. My .02
