it is a beautiful house with beautiful grounds, it just needs a ton of work. one president signed a treaty and another president played cards there frequently. the bones of the house are beautiful and gracious. nice wide gallery hallways and beautiful details. the pics do not do the house justice. the detail is beautiful.
It needs 500grr to bring it up to todays standards. it is currently eligible for a tax credit if we put 405grr into it what would hold taxes for the next 8 years.
unfortunately for me, my current house is DONE. theater, pool, outdoor kitchen, whole house audio, radiant floors and the like. this other house has window ac and radiators.
If I was in your position and the money was there, I'd stay in your DONE house and purchase the one you posted as an investment. Look at those hallways that are lined with huge windows. That is gorgeous. I've always been into architecture and the likes; that house is the shit.
austin, we will probably go through it again in the next week or so. I will take pics of the intricate details. the woodwork is amazing and detailed throughout. It was built 5 years or so ago as part of a large estate and sold to the current family in the 50's. two owners and the house was never altered in anyway. its kind of like a time warp.
it has extreme potential and its location on sheridan road in glencoe 100 feet away from lake michigan is premier.
Here's a pic of the gts in my backyard, house aint all that but I got a nice view especially with the viper back there. click the pic to get the high rez version

Darius, that is a bad bad view man. Good stuff there.
Zen, that place has great potential. I love old houses. You can always tell a mature yard and landscape, and most always have the premier location. I would definitely be up for the challenge.
Peak, I am sure your shit is all together as well. God knows you bastards in the oil business aren't hurting
To address the noob in this post: As far as wealth etc....most of us on the boards do just fine. Selling the coupe to do something else wasn't a financial issue, I simply don't need 5 cars. And personally, I feel very sorry for the states where 2,000,000 gets you what 750,000 gets you down here. Your attitude up there also might work, down here, you would have your head removed and stuffed up your ass. We don't like salad tossing, cum guzzling, douche-bag asshats.
Did you stay in the same area Brady or change zip codes? We are looking to get the hell outta Stone Oak! I'm not home much but for the last few weeks I have been and traffic is a joke around here.
Must be nice to be able to touch your nieghbors house from yours....
You did it kid
Or maybe it is in a very high dollar area, and that house cost 2-3 million. You simply don't know, so Ripper, would you please serve this ass a glass of STFU, or some of your other famous dishes?

I have some acreage out IH-10 across from the Dominion, so that is where I am going to build. Traffic down 281 is pathetic. Stone Oak emptying out on 281 is complete horseshit. I would get out too if I were you.
