hey all just thought id introduce myself...new to the forum!!i live in belfast northern ireland and just bought an 05 srt-10 viper yesterday. its ment to be the only one in the country! just getting used to it, strange with the steering wheel on the left and changing gear with my right hand...but getting the hang of it!!! i have to say the power is fantastic...esp at 4k rpm!!biggest downside is fuel....ours is at $9 per gallon at the min....rough!!
couple of quick questions......how robust are these cars....coming out of a 911 where i could give it a pasting with no fear of something going wrong.....are the vipers also strong and reliable??
The Viper is built to be beat on, that is one of the things that makes it so desirable. It may be the best platform out there to beat on, people run NOS and superchargers on the stock platform and still get reliable performance. If you leave the car NA (no supercharger or turbocharger) it will be bullet-proof.
There are people on this board that have over 100k miles on their cars including multiple drag runs, road course days and generally beating the shit out of the car. In all that time the only thing to go has been the clutch (and that should be expected with that kind of driving).
lol....pasting; a good hard drive down a road.
good to hear how much beating they will take....even tho i'll prob end up treating it like a trailor queen!!

I'm pretty new here myself. I've learned a lot from these guys. I've just had my first oil change (3800) and just started to get on it (pasting!) more often. Right now, it is mostly hot in West Palm Beach and stop and go traffic and a lot of sitting at the lights and watching the heat waves come rising up from the hood. Some of these guys really beat the crap out of the cars and still ticking, so I'm going to do the same lol.
