How many people have experience with DC performance reprogramming of the computer on a SRT-10. Im not so much woried about the $600-700, but if it isnt very noticeable then why bother. I know when I did a chip reprogram on my turbo car, it woke it up in stock form an added a nicely felt 30-40HP.
Ive searched and seen mixed reviews. Anyone have anymore thoughts on this. This mod would end up going along with exhaust and Hi-flow cats. No supercharging for me.
Thanks for input.
have not dyno'd the vipe since the computer install but the car definitely runs much better. throttle responce is more crisp.
i put one on my rams srt quad and the difference was night and day. I am sending them my computer for my jeep next week for a reprogram.
i bought a new computer from DC for the viper for 700-800 or so. I need to send them mine for jeep becauseit is throttle by wire. 650 for the jeep reprogram
And for the other guys, from talking with DC yesterday, they can do a reprogram for the SRT10 for about $650 and thats using your existing computer. Otherwise you can have the flash a new ecu and its about $ 300 more he said.
Anyways I think i may give it a try.
check prices from Jon at partsrack on the pcm his price on them was very good. for quite a bit less than $300 you can go back to stock if necessary and you can always sell the stock or reflashed pcm later if you sell the car. difference in the reflash is noticable when driving and CAGS can be switched off along with the a/f ratios getting straightened out, the stock pcm programming runs very rich the higher the rpms get. so your might also get better gas milage unless you are always using your new found hp and tq
Is that an SRT/8 Jeep ECU you're having flashed? If so, please post the results of the mod. Thanks
Yes I am switching out the computer on the Jeep next. The ram SRt was such a drastic increase in performance I have to give the jeep program a try. From what I understand they have a computer program avail for all the 6.1 hemis.
