If cost is no concern, it's hard to lose when choosing among the Z06 Corvette, Cadillac XLR-V, Dodge Viper, and company. But in a class where performance matters most, the Viper wins the category. The 510 horsepower SRT10 V10 engine is capable of pushing the coupe to 60 in under four seconds. The coupe version is new this year. And unlike some other all-out performers, the Viper keeps its value. In fact, it's No. 2 on Edmund's list of the top 10 residual values for 2006.
You can bet your ass it wasn't in Motor Trend or Car and Driver, the world would stop if those douche bags printed something like that. I got tired of hearing how the Viper was faster, but the vet always came out on top so I dropped my subscription.
The reason the Viper holds its value is because there aren't 35,000 Vipers built a year; it's a different car for different people.
Everyone says the Z06 is faster, and I have handed the ass to everyone I've seen....from the stock Mamba, to the mild head and cam silver SRT, and now the coupe just flat kills them.
I still enjoy peeling back the wigs on all of these mid-life crisis douches.
Viper will not toast an F430....with launch control I have seen figures as low as 3.5 to 60.
The Z06 is faster stock for stock due to weight and gears....BUT it really depends on the driver...when you say you beat a Z06....you beat the driver....NO WAY a stock VIPER can pull away from a Z06. They are both great cars, would rather have the viper because everybody has a vette...and the Z06 doesnt stand out. BUt in terms of performance its a great car no question. Its so funny how Viper Nation just can't accept that the Z06 is fast....it also has to be A LOT easier to put the power down than the raw viper.
