Smile Need some help on SRT-10 Maintenace and car Life

Hey guys I am looking into purchasing a used SRT-10 and the two biggest things I am concerned about is the maintenance and life span of the car. I do plan on using the car at least 3-4 days a week. Is it realistic to drive an SRT-10 as a daily driver? I really haven't seen any Viper's in general with more than 35k or more. Will it be possible to put 100k on the Viper without major issues. Do any of you have high mileage SRT-10's? If driver your SRT-10 as a daily driver how do you like it?

Thanks,
Mill

Some people do DD the SRT-10. I did for a while when it was my only car after the hurricane. I have an H2 that I DD now and the SRT-10 comes out a couple of days a week. You shouldn't have any major issues. I think the motor ha proven it's reliability in previous generations of Vipers. Other than a major depreciation hit for high mileage, you should be good to go. Enjoy.

Oh, by the way, you may want to get an RB-1 navigation radio for your SRT-10. I have one in mine---it's plug and play and works great. I can't live without navigation once I had it in my MB.

Thanks Kenny. I will take a look into the navi. In previous Gen Vipers how much mileage have you seen before?

TVC has two Vipers in which one of them has close to or OVER 100k (his RT/10). His GTS which is his track car has very high miles as well (from what I remember they're ALL track miles). With this said, I think the motor in the Viper is pretty damn near close to being bullet proof.

Austin pretty much said it all---I don't think you will find anything as fast as the Viper that is as durable. Particularly if you leave it stock.

I don't drive our Viper as much as I should but we drive the hell out of our Ram srt/10 and it has done just fine. Lots of stop and go traffic here in DFW also.

I drive my SRT everyday, average about 100-150 mi and planing to do it for a while. I'm also leaving it stock for the time being, the next stop would be at John Hennessey's.

Good Luck,

YS

PS: Gas, it's a bitch!

My SRTC is currently my daily driver, as was my '96 RT/10 (24K miles) and my '01 GTS (28K miles).

Had some minor problems with the RT, but the GTS was flawless.... as well as the SRTC so far (4.5K miles).

If I have any other car than the Viper, I will use every excuse NOT to drive the Viper. Rain. Too foggy. Cloudy sky. Gee, mileage is getting high?

So I just give myself no option - it's my daily driver.

(My wife is out of town so I took the SLK in to work reasoning that I can give myself a good long Viper cruise this weekend.)

I just wanted to say thanks to all have been giving feedback which has been helpful. Do you all do your regular maintenace at the dealer or at Viper Tuning Shops in your area? Also, what is the cost it usually runs for the maintenace on a yearly basis?
