The local Dodge dealership called me and asked if I wanted to pick up an 05I said no and they called back like a month later..................its too bad they sit this long that they call the other viper owners asking to dump them
It's not a bad car, they just built too many for the market.
It wouldn't have been as bad if they stopped making the Vert for 06 and just went with a slightly redesigned coupe. By just slapping a roof on the SRT they cheaped out and pussed out.
If I remember right there were a lot of Gen 2 GTS's and RT/10 sitting on showroom floors for a long time until Dodge starting selling them at VERY low prices.
I do though see this situation being worse due to the # of units available and lack of demand.
Signed,
Purchaser of a new 01 ACR with 100 miles on her off the showroom floor a few years ago in the high 50's. This is a car that would normally go for almost 100K with taxes etc.
Getbit.........Where did you hear about this? I sold my '05 SRT-10 a couple of weeks ago and might be in the market for an SRT Coupe. BTW, your new GT looks awesome!!!
How's it going, David!
It was in the weekly industry rag, Automotive News. It is not a customer rebate...just a dealer incentive to help them move the cars.
I got this from their website. The list in the actual paper showed the Viper included but did not mention the restrictions of having to accept extra inventory as below.
The Chrysler group’s inventory was 586,263 units on May 1. Here are days supply figures.
Jeep Commander 197
Dodge Ram 120
Dodge Dakota 115
Jeep Liberty 100
Jeep Grand Cherokee 93
Chrysler Pacifica 92
Chrysler Town & Country 88
Chrysler group 80
Jeep 117
Dodge 75
Chrysler brand 69
Ridenour says Chrysler plans "to trim production over the course of this year."
Chrysler will build 679,152 units in the second quarter of 2006, says Joseph Langley, market analyst at CSM Worldwide in Northville, Mich. That would be a 10.7 percent drop compared with last year's second quarter, he says.
Chrysler is asking dealers to take about one month of extra stock. Dealers who agree receive $1,000 for every vehicle sold in May and June. Dealers can receive an additional $250 if store sales quotas for both May and June are met.

driven a couple of P-911TT's, but not the gallardo or AM...
The GT has the emotional pull of my first Viper...and it's faster.

How often do you drive it? also what kind of attention do you get at all times? is it literally exhausting? My viper got moderate looks and attention the elise was a little tiring.. but this thing but must a level above..

They get attention from drunk friends who want to crash it for you.
