The bottom line is that you can buy brand new 06 SRT's for 72 grand now....

53 grand for a 03 is really not that bad compared to 72 grand for a 06 as far as depreciation goes.....

I bought my 04 corvette for 52 grand brand new.......Ive got this huge grin on my face knowing that soon Im gonna buy a 03 or 04 Viper for around the same exact price.....And the miles will probaly be the same or lower than the current 15 K my 2004 vette has.....

So basicly it will be like Im paying exactly the same price for a car that is or close to the same year as my 04 with roughly the same miles.....

The only differance is that Ill be driving a new style Viper instead of an old style vette...It's a total win win situation.

Then to top that off......My credit union considers the Viper an exotic and will go even more years on financing than they did my vette if I wish....

-My C5 had 299 rwhp when bone stock....
-The bone stock SRT viper will have roughly 430 rwhp....

-My C5 had a top speed of 175 mph when stock....
-The stock viper has a top speed of 191 mph......

- My C5 msrp'd for 52 grand...
-Thee Viper msrp's for 82 grand......

-My C5 gets looks.....It's currently 378 rwhp and 3100 pounds with blackracing stripes....It runs dead even with stock gen 2's at the drag strip..
-But the SRT Viper gets looks that only an exotic can command...At 3300 pounds and 430 rwhp it will spank my A** buy a solid 2-3 tenths in the 1/4 mile......

So with all the advantages that the SRT 10 Viper has.....And for a low 50's price for a well maintained 15K mile 03 ....

WHY WOULD'NT A VETTE OWNER WHO BOUGHT THEIR CAR BRAND NEW MAKE THE CHANGE???????????????

I really want a Gen 2 body style though......But I have a hard problem buying a car that seems to brake worse than my stock C5 and handle basicly the same ( nearly identical numbers for the gen 2 Viper and the C5 coupe at the nurannburg if I recall correctly)...

Also the interior of my C5 just seems so awesome after test driving 3 different gen 2's.....

But the gen 2 is a low 12 second car and has the most beautiful exterior of any car in the world IMHO....

So Im still debating that one...

The SRT on the other hand....

-looks better than my c5
-Is 2-3 tenths faster than my modded C5 ( unlike the gen 2's that are exactly the same at the track)
-And has a beautiful push button start interior

Sorry for rambling....But Im looking hard for my next baby and currently have the vette for sale...

AND THEIR ARE MANY..MANY....MANY GREAT EXAMPLES OF SRT 10 VIPERS IN THE LOW TO MID 50'S ON EBAY AS WE SPEAK AT BUY IT NOW PRICES.
You paid MSRP for an '04 C5?

I bought it in Mar 2004.......Here in hawaii it's a little different...Their not a hundred different places to go buy a C5 like in the states..

Theirs only 3-4 places you can buy a new one on this small 40 by 40 mile island....

So they use that against us.....Beleave it or not....In Mar 2004 my car actualy had an adjusted market mark up of 8 grand bringing the price to 59 grand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to fight just to get the car for MSRP......

Thats why it took me two years to be able to afford a a new C5.....They would never sell them for under 57 grand...I tried 5-7 times at all the different dealers to the same effect....

So when 2004 came and I could actualy ( finaly) get one for msrp...I jumped on it..

To put it even more into perspective.....Theirs a 2004 Viper here on the island with 7 K miles....

The dealership wants 80 grand for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply because were in Hawaii and theirs not many Vipers around period...

On my last trip to Virginia I saw 3 different srt 10's at two differrent lots on my normal commute...

The price for the 04 Viper their was 61 grand.......A whooping 19 grand less than the same one here in Hawaii simply because of the major differance in supply here in Hawaii vrs Virginia.

I personally think masters like wanted have shown that with skill a Gen 2 viper can do 11's STOCK.. So remember that when buying a Viper..

I would still prefer a Gen 2 for the timeless exotic looks..

I think I'm gonna buy a couple of C6 ZO6's and ship them to Hawaii to sell. Sounds like they'd bring over 100k.
