I just picked up my /05 viper last night and after driving a few minute when I got to a red light While I was idleling the engine was squeaking a little. It almost sounded like it was coming from under the dash board or some belt issue maybe. Anyone have this happen to?...I have an apointment s to check it out . Also are all the vipers a little stiff to shift? My firdt time in such a car I am very used to the Mazda rx-8 shifter.

Congrats on the car, post up some pics. Regarding the shifter situation......I will just say the Viper and an RX-8 are two completely different cars, of course the viper will feel stiffer.
Thanks I just got back from booting around..I did get easier to shift...such a huge difference ....I just went and washed it and right beside me a vette...he spent more time looking at my new baby then washing his car...i guess i should get use to it.
I just purchase an 05 and the car feels like it has a misfire at idle, is this normal. I took it to the dealer and they said the car was find. Also the emissions from the car at idle smell kind of strong and sometimes at stop lights it wants to cut off.any feedback would be very grateful guys.

I have an 04 and have never had it cut off or even seem to want to. Even in the Texas heat.
The Viper is a pretty Cammy engine for a stock car. A high lift cam will cause a "not smooth" idle .... (the valves stay open longer) .. A miss is a very different beast. I'd be suprised if your new toy is only hitting on 9 cylinders...
If you bought a new car the catalytic converters need to "break in." This involves some sort of burning in process that I know nothing about, but I do know that they smell pretty lousy for the first 1000 miles or so.
You may just have to get used to the car, does it feel like it might cut off or does it actually cut off? Big difference.
When at idle the car sputters, shakes and trembles. Kind of the viper's way of telling you it would rather be doing 130. For many of us that is exactly what we like about it.
