SO maybe someone can tell me how a 90K auto can depreciate 50% in one year. HAd a deposit on a 2005 srt-with only 2000 miles. After spending a day driving the car--took my money back, despite the dealer trying to sell in to me for $57500. The ride-HARSH. The interior heat generated by the motor and exhaust--REDICULOUS. The radio and interior controls--PATHETIC. The manual top--ANTIQUATED. The sound--UPS TRUCK. INterior comfort--NONE TO SPEAK OF.
So with all the major flaws this car has--including a first year depreciation hit of almost 50%......why is it that so many people on this board bad mouth the zo6 and other sport cars. Have you all forgotten about the word...QUALITY. I can't wait to hear the collective wisdom of the true believers.

No shit!?!?!? We are so thankful that you came over here to give us such an unbiased review. What have we all done? Why didn't we know better? You're our hero!!! We all just a bunch of fools for driving such POS cars. I better rush out and sell my GTS and practice my wave so I can go get a shiney new corvette. Get a freaking clue... Go buy your corvette and STFU.

There are people who understand sports cars, and those who think $85K buys them every luxury. So, Muthasonspeed, now we know what you are all about. Sissy stuff. Quiet ride, no heat from 'engine stuff', Bose gold radios, smooth ride.....
Try a 60's AC Cobra.
On the other hand, don't. Just go buy an SL Mercedes. Wait, you are only 16!
The cars mags have some reviews that 'get it' and some that don't. Since when is $85K to $57K 50% depreciation? Check your math again, then go find the value of a used C5 Z06.....
Oh yeah, please re-post this in 'anything goes'. You'll be very popular.
PLease man, please. Another track hero wants to tell me about how mean his car is on the track. If you or anyone else on this forum thinks you own a quality car--you are fooling yourselves--and everyone who has driven one of these cars knows it. I have been buying, building and racing high performance sports cars for the past 20 years....and now a thing or two about them. So please--tell me something with a little merit

Arent's these things that should have been noticed on the test drive? Vipers are not refined-- THAT IS WHY PEOPLE LIKE THEM! You want quality? How about a car that you can drive the piss out of every day for 100k miles without a problem? That is the definition of quality that the Viper was built to. Go have fun in your Porsche 911 turbo that you will fall in love with-- and have fun changing the clutch every 6 months and rebuilding the turbos with every other oil change!
Did you read the post--these are the things that were notced on the test ride. And you are the first person with a somewhat accurate reply--VIPER people spend 85K on an UNREFINED car. A little honesty is appreciated. If that is what you are looking to buy--well you found the right car.
If you did not test drive this car to it's full performance capability, then you will never understand! Driving around the block on 30 mph roads or blasting from freeway entrance to exit isn't going to tell you anything about why people love these unrefined cars!
Why come on a Viper site and ask owners to justify why they bought a Viper, just because you test drove one and didn't like it?
What are you basing your comparison's on? I know you didn't put a GM product and Quality in the same sentence. We've all seen the pics of the roofless Z06...
You didn't like the car, you didn't buy it ---- end of story.
Edit: JERK! made me post osme huge response for nothing lol
Well first of all the Viper was built to be exactly what you experience, and to scare off the people that do not appreciate what the car was meant to be. First of all it really isnt that bad, you must just have a little sand in your vagina. You would really hate Gen I cars with all sorts of heat and the wonderful "windows" they came with. The thing about the Viper is this...It gives you two leather wrapped racing buckets, a functional interior, with a pretty decent sound system, the car was meant to be the anti-porsche/ferrari/lamborghini/corvette/maserati/mercedes.....you want a car that rides like a luxury car, doesnt isnt as fast and costs twice as much? buy a 911 turbo...If you want the baddest, most raw pure example of performance for the money on the market then the Viper is your choice....These cars are about the mechanical aspects first....go beat on your average ferrari/lambo/porsche as much as some of these guys do with their Vipers and tell me how crappy the Viper is....
