exhaust system heat shield

Picking up my 2005 srt10 next week. Some of the posts have indicated lots of heat in the cabin. Intend to put on a corsa track system. Also intend to wrap the exhaust in a heat shield product sold by kool mat. Has anyone done this or something similar and does it work? I am not skilled enought to install the floor mats shields which require all the seats and interior trip to come out--so i am looking for an easier way to manage the heat....you thoughts are welcomed.

The cats are what produce the most heat. If you purchase high flow cats and install them or use cat delete pipes, that will DRAMATICALLY lower the cabin temperature.

OK--corsa track system with hi-flow cats. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the info. I just went to the Corsa and the heat is about the same with a better sound. High flow cats will be on the way then. Anyone have problem with codes or anything doing this?

The PCM will only throw codes if you completely remove the cats because it will be running too rich.

High flows should be ok. If you do decide to remove the cats and get cat delete pipes, make sure you purchase cat simulators to attach to the downstream O2 sensors.
